You haven't experienced single shot until you have done it with the L85A1.

I've seen people who can use this gun more accuratelly than a sniper rifle. I just can't understand how they do it. I mean I have tried this gun several times, but no matter how much I use effort to aim and build my shot, it seems totally arndom when it hits and when not. Any hints how to use this gun properly. No basics, I can shoot in the game. You know that, but what is the trick?

Just yesterday I saw some player owning with L85A1. He took 5 headshots in row during maybe 5 seconds. We were playing Karkands and fighting over Train Accident. This guy was hiding in the sentinel towers between bridges. We were laying behind the rail road. Helmets barelly visible. Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop. 5 dead snipers :-(

Don't remember his name, Bloodsport may remember, he was there also. Server was something like 24/7 Karkand infantry only NO FF.

Oh well, he could also be a haxor, I'll nurse my hurted pride with that mental image :|:

Single shot is good, of course, in certain situations though, eventually you'll get a feel for when you should use single shot and when you shouldn't, I personally rarely come off automatic when I use the AK, if there's a long range target I'll tap and do 1-2 shot bursts on automatic. Although I regularly use single shot on the M16A2 on longer range targets because it's so accurate :)

I started playing Medic lately (and yes, I'm a total Medic whore) and I was doing fine with the AK, but the M16 was giving me a lot of trouble with the 3 shot bursts. So I decided to try out single fire and I was p00nin' balls.

Pros:
- Waste less ammo to kill your enemy
- Better accuracy

Con:
- Sometimes when you run into someone with a machine gun you will get pwned if you don't click fast enough

What are your thoughts on single fire?

Single fire at range, switch back to burst fire when there is no long-range target. I always default to burst, then switch to single when needed.

I use single shot a fair bit but that depends entirely on the situation, in an open map or an open area of a closed map where I expect the enemy to be appearing from a direction where there is distance I will use the single shot. When I expect to meet hostiles around a corner obviously I changed to auto/burst.

The M16's single shot IMO is extremely accurate, then again so is the AK-101.

I remember him. I went into freeview and his rifle was not snapping between opponents like aim bots do. We have a skilled L85 member in the clan, I thought he was hacking till he came round me house and showed me on his PC there that it wasn't. Muchos respect to those that can use it. I can't however.

I remember him. I went into freeview and his rifle was not snapping between opponents like aim bots do. We have a skilled L85 member in the clan, I thought he was hacking till he came round me house and showed me on his PC there that it wasn't. Muchos respect to those that can use it. I can't however.

Roger that. In that case he was the best infantry player I've played against so far. Almost nothing but headshots. Only way to encounter him was to keep some distance and kill him with a headshot. Btw do you remember his nick?

Switch between single and auto. Depends how close you think the enemy is.

Single shot is good, Burst fire is best. Burst fire is good in any range short or long.

i like to single shot when needed and like auto when needed. 3burst and single shot modes irritate me. id rather have an auto and control my shots by myself.

weird, im the other way around. i only have it on automatic when i know im going to be in close range combat.
