2142 vs 2

I'm not really asking which is better, we all have our opinions.
But what exactly makes them different. I've played a lot of both, but I still can't figure out what makes them feel so different.

Besides the obvious lack of real air in 2142 and the battle walker I can't come up with the answer

They've both got the same type of gun in each one.
The accuracy of the guns is about the same. Though I think 2142's gun are more powerful but not by that much.
Fast attack vehicles in both
Tanks in both.
Apcs in both….
On paper I can't come up with why they would feel like such a different game. So I wonder has anyone ever written on why it is?
Could simply the futuristic look make the game feel so different?

Anyway… just wondering

I would have to say bf2142 is more balanced, so it makes the game more playable in my opinion. The game play seems quicker too. In my opinion bf2142 is what bf2 should have been. Mod or not.

Care to explain how bf2 isn't balanced?
Not only are the unlocks exactly the same gun but most of the base guns are very similar with the expection of the aks/m16

Do you have anything else about the diffrences besides that?

2142 is a nerfed, crappy, noob friendly version of bf2. The cone of fire is terrible, I'm just waiting for that one time that I get into a firefight with a guy, and a coin just flips on screen, because thats how bullets are calculated in that game. And the useless vehicles..... to many idiots that complained in BF2 got what they deserved in 2142, every vehicles sucks... but it is easy to use. For example, the gunships cant kill crap, but they practically fly themselves. You also move 1/2 the speed, and cannot shoot till like 10 minuts after you land from a jump. Might as well have everyone sit still, thats what the firefights are in that game... to make it easier for the terible scrubs...

I'll say it again, BF2142 is a noob friendly, "whine" version of BF2. GG EA, they killed competition, and with the unlocks, they are digging themselves into a really big hole.

LOL, not its not... the whole game is about unlocks.. How is that balanced? some nub comes in, and gets owned by some weapon that some "leet" guy who has been pubbing for 1000's of hours, while the nub is stuck with some ****ty scar-11? give me a break. Also read above. If you didn't notice, BF2 had a kit called Anti-tank... supposedly some (most) people's games didn't come with it..

I hate 2142 , as you guys said just my oipinion . However as said above it has some good team point aspects .

Put the squdleader points system into BF2 and a lot of the smackatrds will dissapear .

Its actually worse than BF2? Im glad I havent gone near it, Id be infuriated.

BF2142 is not balanced, its equalized, meaning, there is no vehicle that can turn the tides of the battle, and the game has been made up so that each kit and everyone can fight any threat. Which is why theres lots of base defense items, and vehicles themselves are fairly limited.

Which obviously makes point whoring for people who only play infantry, easier.

And people say it promotes heavy teamwork... LOL

Wow, I'm not sure any of you have actually played the game, you made up your minds before you even played it. Don't take my work for it, play the game. I love BF2 but what game doesn't have rifle sway? oh BF2? Please, moan all you like, but i have played every BF series game and have found 2142 the most enjoyable. That is my opinion. I love the fact that each vehicle is powerful and weak at the same time. there is no J-10 whoring in bf2142. period. Learn how to play and some of you might enjoy it, no one kit or vehicle will ensure the win. Its skill.

Every vehicle sucks? Ummm if anything they're more powerful; the sheilds are a big advantage and the fire power of the battle walker is down right insane.

That I hadn't noticed as I spend most of the time sprinting from one peice of cover to another, but if that's true that's an important diffrence.

Minor difference, but still a difference. Noted.

They can turn the tide just as easily in bf2 as 2142. If there's no anti armor around an APC parked next to the flag is a huge problem. The tank in bf2142 is really no different then the tank in bf2 expect there's no coaxial gun. And don't forget about the battle walker.

Battlewalker? APC? You gotta be kidding me. They pose a threat? Thats a joke of the year. You dont even have to switch kits, nearest anti vehicular weapon is basically in the reach of the hand, especially with most battles taking place around the flag.

Insane power? Thats a joke. Battlewalkers may be the most potent weapons on the field, but they are far from overpowering, far from being powerful.

You didnt want any difference, you were trying to see how far will you able to push the fight "BF2 vs BF2142".

They can turn the tide just as easily in bf2 as 2142.

BS, take a jihad fastmover, and you can take out any vehicle in the field in under 30 seconds, take out anti armor kit, and you have a definite solution against armor. The fact that one man can take out a tank with little resistance and relative ease, means just how much of a "power" a vehicle represents on the field.

If there's no anti armor around an APC parked next to the flag is a huge problem.

Except that almost all flags have rail guns, and the moment theres an anti armor trooper, the APC is history. Combine that with the Pilum, and APC becomes a death trap.

The tank in bf2142 is really no different then the tank in bf2 expect there's no coaxial gun.

Except that coaxiam machine gun is exactly what made the tank a perfect infantry support weapon when it came to capping flags. In BF2142 all it takes is a small detour, a pilum into the tanks butt and its history.

And don't forget about the battle walker.

Which is probably the ONLY potent weapon in BF2142 and is still easy to take out.
