    Spotting...

So I was wondering how many of you love/hate/don't care for spotting? Personally I love spotting, and I love it when all the commander does is drop Supplies, UAV and continually spots the entire round AKA doing his job. And I'm sniper mostly, on city maps (let's be honest, mostly Kark) and I spot everyone I see, just to give my teammates a heads up. I've seen people b!tch out a commander because he wasn't spotting, and I've seen people cal lthe commander a noob for "spotting to much" (becaue knowing where our enemy is, is totally a dis-advantage to us) Now I agree the constant yelling is annoying but I play music louder than I have the volume anyway so that doesn't bother me. Your thoughts on spotting?

FYI hold "Q" and left click "spotted" to spot who ever is in the general area of your crosshairs, you don't have to go through the list and find "soldier". Not alot of people spot, and maybe it's because they don't know how? Well, now they do. :)

I also will spot any chance I get, certainly if I know I'm going to die. I absolutely
hate it when your Team/Commander doesn't spot enemies. If the server normally has good teamplay like the one I play on, it is essential that you spot enemies. It makes it so much easier for choppers/jets/armour/APCs to properly support you if they know where the enemies are or where they are going. This way you can ambush or dig in when appropriate.

It's very, very, very important to spot the enemy heli/jet when they're dogfighting or otherwise. And tanks, and rogue cars/troops sneaking behind the lines.

I wish people would learn what to spot and what is SPAM!

I get so tired of hearing:

          Enemy spotted!
          Enemy spotted!
          Enemy spotted!
          Enemy spotted!
          Enemy spotted!
          Enemy spotted!
          Enemy spotted!
          Enemy spotted!
          Enemy spotted!
          Enemy spotted!
          Enemy spotted!
          Enemy spotted!

Spotting is good and bad IMO.

firstly it is a good thing for your pilots to be able to have an idea of enemy helis/planes. Also it is great tool for allowing other infantry guys to be aware of enemies and such..

            the bad thing..

I can spam spot in an area that I "think" people are at...if Im right they are found. So anotherwards..I get hit with fire from a direction..I just spam spotted in that area everywere till the guy pops up....weak.

Also anyone have a problem were you do spotted and nothing happens? Like lately Ill do spotted and the person/thing wont be spotted nor will my soldier even make a sound and say spotted.

I have always wanted a third volume that would control team chatter. I want to hear it, but not always over people shooting at me. I also think the engine should have been optimized so that unless you are in a certain piece of equipment, you will not hear Helo Spotted a mile away. Because, when you are not near an AA nest, in a chopper, or in a jet, what does it matter?

And when someone is throwing first aid 5 flags away why here that too?

I spot all the time, i spot every single enemy i see,

I changed my spot key to my middle mouse wheel button, So all i do is press down on the wheel and press left click att he same time and it spots.

Its like pressing a single key, works like a charm.

But as the patches rolled on, the spot circle seems to have been less accurate.

Esp when your in a chopper or jet, it is so important for ppl on the ground to spot them for you. Some people just dont have clue and walk off without spotting.

Spot everything and spot often. I cannot stand commanders who don't spot. I'll ask, several times. After that, it's reason enough for me to TK the commander.

Regular troops can't really spam. The commander can, and there is a reason. He can see eveything on the battlefield. I'd prefer to know that there are 5 guys capping a back flag, instead of only getting one spot and getting gunned down and lose the flag.

The UAV cannot cover everyone, and it cannot be up constantly. Any info. is good info.

I hate commanders that spot all the time. I believe the same as what camperstruck said. For infantry to spot, I don't really mind as long as they actually spot somebody. It annoys my so much hearing, "enemy forces, over" for 10 seconds straight. I think that only vehicles should be spotted.

Agreed. I think I commander could spot the 'prioity targets. But it makes it difficult for me to note where pot-shots are coming from with him always ringing in my ear. And hard for me to talk to my team too.

Especially when you have died, and trying to select a spawn point and kit.

You decide on a spawn point, select the medic kit (example) only to spawn at a spot where a tank is raping the spawn full of on-lookers.

Why couldnt some1 spot the tank so you know to pick the AT or Spec ops kit so you could atleast try to help out rather than adding to the tanks kdr.

I always spot before i open fire. Its probably cost me a few deaths losing that split second but its more out of habit TBH
