Nah, it's only the first major RTS in 10 years. Nothing to worry about.

      Re: Supreme Commander

Recieved my copy yesterday i got thr Aeon faction pack didnt have chance to play it yesterday but ive had a couple of hours on it tonight

I wouldnt really reccomend you pay more than £2 more for the faction packs than the vanilla version plus the poster and tech tree are in french!

But so far a really fun game, getting hooked on it like i did for ages on TA

Is anyone on UEF mission 2? After i have defended the science base what does it mean when it says i have to evacuate the civilians i just cant see any civilians

That mission is a *****, still on it, but that's because I haven't been playing much.

What you have to do is bring 12 gunships, 14 skyboxers and 20 MA12s to the new base (it's below your starting base, assuming you made yours where the commander popped up).

Then you have to move all these trucks that appear across.

I recommend absolutely spamming the screen with units, then destroying all the patrols, then finally moving the trucks escorted by the original units.

thanks camperstruck but ive just figured it out

the game is starting to laggg badly even on low settings the game seems to be giving my 1 and a half year old processor a good ole kicking

have to destoy that base now but they have about 50 gunships protecting it and my huge army just got wiped out

            Re: Supreme Commander

I've been playing this for a couple of days now, and I don't know; maybe it's because I'm ten years older and wiser ( :) ), but I recall having more fun playing TA.

I can't put my finger on it, but I think the main thing I don't like about it is that it is so incredibly SLOW. In TA, everything was fast and intense, but in SC, it takes forever for one's units to move across one's own base much less across the map. (To be clear, I'm talking movement speeds, not framerate issues.)

Ferries are a nice feature, but 1.) it takes forever to load (pathing issues I suspect), and 2.) it can only transport a couple of T2 or T3 units at a time, so those two units easily get annihilated by the enemy's 250 units.

You know you can turn the game speed up just like in TS. In TA the first thing I did was put it on +10.

But I tried +10 in SC and it was WAY too fast... so maybe try it on like +3.

Where do you do this? I want to do it for single player campaign...

I love the concepts behind this RTS, it's on par with C&C.

By the way, my framerate is ridiculously low (i.e. below 20), what console commands affect this?

                  Re: Supreme Commander

                  NUM+ = speed up
                  NUM- = slow down
NUM* = reset to normal speed

BUT! If you think your framerates are slow now, wait until you try to speed the game up!

Yeah, thanks, not a second after I posted I found the answer in Google. I get a marvellous 4 fps when it hits 10, but if I add more units, it gets back to 11? Weird...

Yep, what I did was build a resource farm (tech 3 powergen array surrounded by mass fabs) in the bottom of the base, and T2 artillery at the top walled area. I tried building a Great Wall of Hawai to keep out the monkeybots but that failed disastrously. Meanwhile, I had 40 engineers build me 3 nuke launchers, assigned 2 commanders to one, 20 to another and 20 to another, then assigned CTRL numbers to each nuke and one for all three, and when all the invasions came, I blasted them off the face of the earth. The last commander was an utter *****, I think I took him out with tech 2 point defenses, of all things. The monkeylords were nothing, one nuke for each. Oh, and at the end, I also had 20 engineers repairing the Black Sun thing. No navy, or airforce, except for 3 heavy gunships to clean the Aeon island up (after I dropped about 40 nukes on it )

ah my beloved sup com that ive abandoned because i cant stand the lag, i will have to wait until later to get it installed again and see what frames i get, anything will be better than 15fps, you can improve it by disabling sound but it'll be like watching a silent movie...

Everyone says it is great, but I don't know if future RTS's are as good as WW2.
Is this game really as good as what people are saying about it?
