Which is precisely the correct (and pretty much the only) response when in the F-35B. Anyone who tries to make a crack about it clearly doesn't know what he's talking about...
pelirrojo173: As for shaking a guy on your tail, your best bet is to learn the different strengths & weaknesses of the different aircraft and do your best to play off of them. The F-18 has a fast throttle response, so you can pull the old Top Gun-style "hit the brakes", just be sure to have a flare ready. The J-10 has a tight turn radius, but it doesn't respond quite as fast as some of the other aircraft, so sometimes you can deny him a shot by weaving from side to side (again, much like in Top Gun)--just be sure to check your rear view to see when he turns to follow you, and turn back the other way as soon as he does. This won't necessarily help you against an ace pilot, but I've done it in an F-35B and managed to keep a J-10 at bay for a good minute or two by doing this on more than one occasion (while leading him back and forth over the carrier to give the phalanx a chance to nail him, which is also obviously a good idea when possible).
As for the MiG-29, the only real advantage that I've noticed to it is that it seems to perform the "retard roll" (rolling/ruddering to the same side at the same time) more effectively than other fighters. This move seems quite effective at dodging missiles in a bomber as well (I've had fighters go through an entire salvo of missiles and not score a single hit on me by doing this).
Other than that the best thing I can say is try to be unpredictable--if you've been weaving from side to side and he's still on you, then pull off in an odd direction suddenly, or quickly swerve around/low to an object like a hillside or building. Even if he doesn't lose track of you completely, you might catch him off-guard and shake him loose enough that another quick, unpredictable turn will allow you to break away from him.

and you reminded me about the f18 evading the j10, heres a video i made and i couldnt stop laughing. 1 missle did hit, but i think i knocked the mouse or had a spike, otherwise i coulda gone round in circles all day :laugh:
Yeah.. but not everyone sucks with cannons.. I don't even use missles on an F-18 unless they are going straight or if they are in a transition.. they're so easy to cannon because they are slow and the mig/j-10 both turn tighter

most players suck with the cannons when trying to shoot down another jet, i bet even you couldnt shoot me down with cannons
LOL, people saying the "dogfighter" video is "****" need to watch between the lines. I think we all can agree that he cut the worst part out, but... isnt that what an "ownage" video is all about? The juiciest part is the 1 vs 1 dogfights. Uncut, and a spectacular show how a pilot can outmaneuver another pilot.
