    Re: Crouch position

BF2Enhance has a crounch toggle feature along with...

Weapon Switch: Allows you to switch between pistol and main weapon.

Quick Scroll: When scrolling mouse wheel Weapons will automatically be selected so you don't have to click.

Crouch Toggle: Allows you to toggle crouch on and off.

Iron Sights Untoggle: Holding in button will turn on iron sights, releasing button will turn them off.

Enable Paste: Allows user to paste anywhere into BF2 (good for IP's)

the previous FPS's ive played also had the crouch "toggle" which was kinda usueless because in those games it didnt matter how much you moved, cuz your guns were still just *** accurate. run and gun / spray and pray

Having options would'nt be a bad thing.
I was a huge RB6/RogueSpear player/fan and I feel your pain. It's just a different game all together.

I'd advise you though to remap crouch to something that is comfrotable for you, because you can't hit squat in this game if your not crouched or prone (no pun intended).

At first yes "respawning" to me was abhorrent. In BF42 I thought to myself, "why should I have to kill someone twice?". But the objectives are different in the BF series, the way to win isn't simply being better at killing people then the other team. BF2 is even further away from a win using those techniques.

My advice to you as former RB6/Rogue/GhostRecon person, is to not embrace the CQC aspects of the BF series, because they're not all that good to begin with. You'll never find the same satification in making shots in the BF series then you will in those other games. The CQC playing feild is quickly leveled.

Embrace the other aspects of the game, teamwork, strategy and squad leadership. You'll get a lot more out of the series and in particular BF2 if you treat the game entirely different, then you are now.

O ya I like this game a lot. Just thought with all 'em patches they released, they'd add these two things in the game.

            TEAMWORK, STRATEGY & SQUAD LEADERSHIP

hmmn, not really!!! rare!!! coz u have plenty of lives or tries to capture a flag. I notice a lot of players scattered all over the map just doing their own thing.

Hey guess what?!?!?!?! You're a big fat a$$hole shut the fcuk up.

And for the poster, I use the right click to crouch and the far right button if you have a five button mouse for my iron sights.

Been doing that for ages and I find it comfortable for me.

Its all preference, I wouldn't like a locked crouch.

That can happen on a lot of servers. If everyone happens to buy into playing like "lonewolves" (term for a person not in a squad), even when in a squad, a server's map rotation can play out a certain ways.

People that like that type of play gravitate to those servers and they begin to have a clientele that reflects that.

But try and take a spawn that's being defended by a squad working as one. You'll need a squad doing the same to defeat that. Some servers are like that, and attract that type of player(s). That doesn't mean one strategy is better then another. I and my squad have been over run by hoards of players who have very good individual skills. Doesn't happen very often and only in particular areas of maps. But it does happen.

It's a frustrating process getting something fun out of the BF series coming from something like the Clancy series, I'm not denying that. But I did it, and have found it for the most part to be worth the aggravation.

With all it's foibles, and some imbalances, it's still the most sophisticated squad based shooter out there right now, and worth the time and effort.

Guys, guys! for f*cks sake take it easy! don't have to start a major flamewar because you have different oppinions.

We all have the right to think as we want, but don't call others sh*t because you don't agree with them.
First of all, this is useless. DICE or EA won't ever, EVER change a thing like this in a game like BF2. Accept it.

                              Re: Crouch position

Others have said it. I don't personally want it, but what's wrong with a check box under options that says, "Toggle/Lock Crouch." Or something similar.

It's just like the minimap being stationary or not (well, in the sense that it's an option). I prefer mine stationary, but I know lots of people that like it to move around their dot on the minimap.

The only problem with this is that: next patch??? Yeah, I'm buying my gf a unicorn for Valentine's Day. Regardless, DiCE would mess it up anyways and need about 5 more patches to fix the "Crouch" bug that they would implement in the patch. They don't want all that work.
