    Re: It actually happened

It does take skill to fly a jet, no doubt. I could not rape as well as the pro jet whores. However, just because something takes some skill does not mean it is a legit tactic.
Brian thinks that pilots shoot down the plane and then bomb for 60 seconds before fighting again.... no way, bombing is near 24/7. The pilots will always be the same couple of guys, they repeatedly rape spawns and destroy hapless groups of infantry. You might argue that they are defending flags, but no, they fly the same patterns over enemy bases bombing and strafing for tons of spawn kills. They rarely contribute to their team except for the -1 ticket the other team suffers for a death, this factors in almost 0. Jet pilots do not get in the jet to keep the enemy air grounded and defend flags while bringing down ticket points (which is the best case scenario with a jet), they get in jets for maximum kills, for maximum points, with minimum jets.
With little knowledge of ground pounding (or little skill) they curse IO as soon as they join it, they call IO players stat padders, while they play with jets so they can get maximum points.... (in their words, wouldn't that be stat padding?). I am arguing this not just from this topic but from the 1,000,000 posts flaming IO and Karkand as stat padding :)
Be and let be. Let us enjoy what we want, you enjoy what you want. I would not post this outright, that would be instigating, but I am posting this so that people would let be. Play with jets, play IO, just play, leave the whining to the 8-year olds discussing BF2 over grilled-cheese sandwhiches and juice boxes.

    Cheers

Well, maybe some jet pilots are like that, but I go for jets first, then heli's, and bomb when the coast is clear. I know that most jet pilots are just like me, watch a video they make....If you watch, say Metallica's video, some people would call that just bombing 80 percent of the round, but he is doing so, to keep the enemy jets down. He only goes after ground targets, when he knows he has a window of opprotunity to, that is exactly how I fly.

Also, saying all jet pilots are crap on the ground, and call IO stat padding, is a very ignorant statement. I normally fly for a couple of hours, then go play some IO. I am not a great infantry player, but I kill more than I die, by quite a bit.

Exactly. The pilots in jets or choppers who are ending the round 100-0, are not fighting each other, they're killing infantry targets on the ground for maximum points. If they were truly dogfighting each other, their score would be much less.

I dont care if they fly or not, that is not the point. We all just have to listen to their unfounded bragging here on the forum as to how elite their scores are, when all they did is bomb a base over and over all round.

You are wrong, and I am not saying that just to argue. First of all, it is almost impossible to just avoid an enemy jet all round, but still go 100-0. If you had any clue as to what pilots actually do, you would not say things like that. If you have not watched metallica's movie, I simply ask that you do so. He went 45-0 in that round, while shooting down 3 enemy jets. After 5 minutes into the round, the enemy air was completely worthless, as they never even got off the ground. When they did, he turned his complete attention to the jets, and until they were down, he did not just go around mindlessly bombing the poor poor infantry. That is what a good pilot does.

Do you really think it is that easy to go 100-0? I know I never have, and I fly quite often. I think I have finished 10 or 11 rounds with no deaths, and those were probably short rounds for me. The most kills I have gotten in a jet was in an F35 on Wake. In a single round, was 56 or so, countered by 3 deaths I believe, only one of those by an enemy.

I am not telling you this to try and brag, I am trying to show you that regardless of what you may believe, it takes a lot to get massive amounts of kills in a jet, with no deaths....Hell, I can pretty much guarantee at least a death a round, from random accidents. You do not seem to realize, that most pilots dogfight first, then bomb. I have seen someone go 102 and 0, with about 10 kills being enemy jets. So your saying that they have to be endlessly spawncamping to get those high kill rounds, you are wrong.

            Re: It actually happened

The point of a plane is to supply air cover. Now I for one try to do my best to provide this cover wether it is taking out other planes, Heli's or tanks. I have a hard time taking out just infantry. It took me a long time to get to were i am and believe you me i crash or get shot down just as much as I kill in a plane.
My point was that I never though anyone would consider me a plane whore of any sort. I have been there getting spawn camped by a plane. What I do in that case is change spawn points.
I really didn't mean it to for this to turn into a pissing match. Just though it was funny to be called a plane whore.

Thanks for all the post though you all rox in my book. (even those who can't fly)

That may be true, but if 15 of my deaths are from someone in a J-10, and I see the same guy bombing a flag and getting 3-5 kills a shot, that'd add up to 100 pretty quickly, regardless of what he is doing in the air.

How can I be wrong, with my experience on the ground, I know who's killing me and when.

It's only in the last couple of weeks where there have been more pilots on all the servers I've been on, and the bombing/az-10'ing, f-35'ing is non-stop now. Deaths by air units have now surpassed deaths from armor on the ground. These are my observations and experience, through hours and hours of playing Bf2. There are some rounds I don't even die by a bullet. It's been a bomb or chopper. Madness.

              BF2 is fast becoming a pilot's game.

You sure can run to a building or at least out of the line of fire. They only have 2 bombs then they have to reload. Or maybe try call in cover from the plane on your side.
So it was you on that server wasn't it???

I spend most my time dogfighting now when i'm in a jet. I would consider myself above average at dogfighting.. don't just assume if someone has alot of kills that they are baseraping.

I can hold my own ground pounding too. In pub servers I normally come in the top 3, with high kdr's from my GUN, and lots of teamwork points, because I keep my teamates alive.

I don't fly for maximum kills or points.. I fly because I like the challenge.. yes.. the CHALLENGE.

You tell me right now you can just hop into a jet, and go... lets say... even 50-0. I can guaruntee you won't right off the bat. It isn't this cakewalk that everyone thinks it is.. Random **** WILL happen to you like brian said.. I have had plenty of rounds where I am like 30-0, all dogfighting kills... and then I will nail a UAV, or the other jet will hit me in mid-air randomly... etc. It's times like those when the random deaths start happening.

Sure.. some may go into a pattern and keep a jet down, the WHOLE round.

That IS a legitimate tactic, IF, it is done to a J-10. If it is any other jet, then let them take off.. that is what I think.

Umm... oh nm. As soon as a poster starts trying to discuss my skill as a groundpounder trying to defend a base against 5000 lbs of ordinance raining down every 15 seconds, there's no point.

So, you choose to respond to that one guy, instead of the 3 or 4 other arguments, that blow your whole whiny theory out of the water? I do not mean to be rude, I have taken my share of lumps on the ground from planes, but I do not whine about it, even when I am on the carrier on Wake, trying to find anyway to the island.

Suck it up, maybe learn to fly yourself. Does your forum name match your ingame name? Because if you are ent|ty.bf2 then you have no right to complain about dying from planes, as you never spend time in them, time you could have been taking out the enemy plane.

To be honest.. i find it hilarious that players actually care about planes, levels, stats, or rank.

Although i have to admit it is fun gaining in rank and getting medals. i have never thought of even wanting to spend the required time practicing to have a 3-1 kill to death ratio.

I am happy with ground pounding or flying jets or helocopters. But it just so happens that i ground pound about 90% of the time because most everyone that plays battlefield would rather crowed around the jets and heli spots waiting for a chance to either jet a jet or tk a teamate that has a jet.

Personally i find it absolutely retarded that someone can claim they have skill in bombing people on the ground seeings how its as easy as a right click.

And in my honest opinion i would rather take a open jeep and drive into the enemy base, cap the flag, kill some folks, then die and repeat than to sit at base getting bombed and waiting for my turn at the j-10.. i mean the game IS for playing... not for waiting to play

If you ask me the people who refer to ground pounders as n00bs are the very n00bs themselves.

The real good players are the ones who don't hate other players for what they do.. and they always think about how to win.. not how to up their ****ing stats in airtime.

I know that it takes amazing skills to properly pilot a jet, but that is no reason for jet fliers to refer to us ground pounders as n00bs. because it is like apples and oranges.

If you really care about making yourselves look that good.. then get outa your goddamn j-10 and hop into a jeep.. then come at me with everything you got.. if you win 9 times outa 10 then you can call me a n00b..

I never wait for a Jet to spawn, unless I know the guy got kicked, or tells me hes not flying anymore that round, or its a friend, and we take turns.

I did not see me or anyone else calling ground pounders "n00bs", and I never will. There are new people in the sky, and on the ground, they are not there to be insulted though.

Ok then, then people that whine about air are terrible players as well, because they hate people in the air :) Also, having a great team in the sky can be crucial to winning

                                Again, nobody called you n00bs

If you really care about making yourselves look that good.. then get outa your goddamn j-10 and hop into a jeep.. then come at me with everything you got.. if you win 9 times outa 10 then you can call me a n00b..
I still would not call you a n00b, and I have spent well over 3/4 of my time on the ground, over both my accounts.
                                And that is all.

Well, you did not respond to any other peoples reasonable posts, so, are you just saying that you have your opinion, and no facts are going to change it? oook then. And that is not the sentiments of "all" groundpounders, almost all jet pilots have spend many hours on the ground as well, we just have a more rounded game. Jets, and other vehicles are part of the game, if you have to switch to other maps to adjust, you are playing a "lite" version of the game, and all that shows, is that you cannot hang with the best players.

And you cannot argue, so why do you even post argumentative things?
