The only problem with I/O is that it gets real boring fighting medics all day. It's a nightmare trying to hold off 3-4 medics who are effectively leap-frogging (dying, reviving) towards your position. They won't stay dead.

The problem with IO is that BF2's infantry combat isn't very good..

I blame IO servers. They dominate the server list now and people just play medic and sniper and fight on two fronts the whole map. If I wanted to play IO, I'd play Counterstrike or something.

Geez... it's not all medics! Hell I play support most of the time and love gunning people down. IO gets such a bad rap!

Because it and Karkand have completely ruined a decent game.

I too have seen less GG's mostly, it seems like I am the one to say it and if there is still time left in a round, some will say it back. But what I do fine too, is that I get on a team that ends up getting so stacked with officers, that it is sometimes not fair to the other side and as a result, there is very little reason to say it.

I know I like to team up with people that I know, and as a result when you have a few good squads, you can wipe the floors...But, I know that when I have a great squad and I keep running into another coordinated squad, GGs are always in order at the end because they were hitting us the same way.

Infantry only is a cop out for those that can't learn how to deal with the full game. It's BF2 for "special" people.

The only time I would ever say "GG" is if the round ends 5-0. If it's 200-0, like many of them are nowadays, I'm disgusted when the winning team says "GG". Yeah, for you, maybe.

Wow... I've been playing this game since it came out and have experienced all maps/modes. IMO, IO is the most fun. The way you feel about IO, is the same way I feel about Wake Island and Plane whores.

Re: Are the "ggs" fading away?

I bounce between the two... If I get sick of respawning just to be bombed with 5000 lbs of ordinance - 5 times in a row, then artilleried, then a chopper kills me twice, then I get bombed again by SU-34, I tend to not want to play it anymore.

Then I go I/O play that for a bit, but get tired of the nade spamming and belly-flopping mobs of medics everywhere.

BF2 has near run its course for me, I think. It ain't no Counterstrike thats for sure.

Re: Are the "ggs" fading away?

Greetings soldiers. Yes, I have noticed an "elite" group of higher ranked players grouping up together on one team. They have the decided advantage in experience and often are clan mates so they have worked together and know each others tendencies. They own the other team, rack up mega kill points, and piss the other team off and the losing team disconnects and goes searching for a "balanced" server. GOOD LUCK !!! I hate it when the teams are obviously unbalanced and if I text to the other team for some of the upper ranked to switch over to balance the teams, they just blow me off. I think some people have gotten such inflated EGOS that racking up points for your stats has become the main priority in BF2. Who cares about balanced teams or capping flags. I just want my Jet, Chopper, Tank, APC , to rack up kills with seems to be the type of players I have been running into more frequently. I love playing with a team that is all about working as a unit. A good balance of different kits, and going after enemy flags with zeal and tenacity. I don't hand out GG's to a bunch of RANKED FOOS that just raped a bunch of NOOBS in yet another unbalanced game. I have found myself doing a lot more "WHINING" about uneven teams these days. I wish the autobalance in BF2 could keep things a bit more even. Sorry if I offended or bored anyone. This game ROCKS when played the way it was intended to be played. Selfish immature players who put their own stats above what's best for the team has taken the enjoyment level down o few notches. All this being said, I will be in the market for a High End Joystick so I can begin to drop tons of BOMBS on the heads of unsuspecting noobs as has been done to me on so many occasions. Perhaps it's the natural progression as we climb higher in rank and desire to achieve all the medals, badges, ribbons, ETC. I hope I never loose my desire to work as a unified team doing the grunt work that is necessary to win this game. Ground pounding, living and dieing several times a game to get the victory, and hopefully a close game with exchanges of GG soldiers from BOTH TEAMS. God bless you ALL and God bless AMERICA.

^^ agree. BF2 has turned me into somewhat of a 'whiner'. It only turns a valid suggestion into a whine because noone has the balls to listen, and switch teams to balance things out.

I pretty much have a rule now. Once I get 10 deaths by air whores, and it is obviously air-stacked in their favor, I just leave. Not going to give them anymore cheap, free points.

I usually don't say GG (good game, duh) a lot any more since i'm so conentrated on capping a flag or healing some one or whatever. But when it's 200-0 then i'm not going to say GG for it was not a good game, but i've had a game where it was 0-1 (our loss) and that was a great game.

GG's are few and far between, given and received. There's only the servers I visited regularly that I'll say gg cause they usually are good matchs all the time.

I've been running a ranked server for a couple weeks now and as soon as a non air map came up, everyone jumped ship, well most do anyway. We can go from 24 to 10 in no time. Everyone seems to just want to circle the flags in the air and never cap one. I run 32player maps just because the server would be empty 24/7 if I just ran 16player maps, which I would love to do.

In your opinion of course. Some people like IO, including me, and it has probably extended its life for me, as sometimes I get bored out of my mind flying a jet around, or getting artied every time I spawn.
