    Shooting down UAVs

I did a couple of searches on this topic but haven't found anything.
Does anyone know if shooting at an enemy UAV will bring it down or shorten its airtime? I just wonder because for kicks i shoot at them sometime and I see the hit marking light up around my cross hairs when I do. Sometime I swear they blow up after 4 hits. Just wondering.

I've landed on one on Warlord before. Talk about a confusing moment. :)

I think i took down one with m95 just few days back. I shot it, and it blew up. Was kinda confusing. There was video once that showed them being blown up with c4.

the UAV i shot was our own thought.. Just had to try.

I think I'll just have to time it when the enemy deploys a UAV and shoot at it to try to find out if small arms has any effect. Although I wonder if that will lower my weapon accuracy over time.

Shoot at it with the second upgrade Support gun and you'll shorten it's scan time over target. I've done it and it seems to work..Must piss the commanders off!!! LOL

It takes damage from any weapon , even pistols.

It can be destroyed with some concentrated fire.

Shoot at it when ever possible, but don't forget to pay attention to what's going on around you when your looking up.

When I lead a squad of regulars that communicate with each other, we often stop before attempting to take a spawn and "take out" the UAV. If everyone shoots at it, it can be destroyed.

I regularly take out UAV's with Shilka's and American AA tanks... It works.

yeah, you can blow them up. You can land on them then C4 them if your some nutter. I don't bother.

Yes, you can down them as others have said. And yes, it does annoy the commander when it happens. I've had UAVs blown up literally seconds after deployment. Get ready for the whiners when it happens.

Thanks for all of the replies. I was starting to think maybe I was crazy..they did seem to blow up after I shot at them. :|: I've never seen anyone in a map shoot at an enemy UAV though. Although maybe they are concentrating on other matters. I usually scan the sky before easing into a sniper position that has some exposure to a street level just in case a UAV may be announcing my location.

                        Thanks for your experiences.

Blowing up UAVs doesn't bother me. I just spot all over the place anyways.

That is always a good thing but Commander spots don't last as long and they divert your attention as Commander from directing squad dropping ammo...imho.

UAVs can really empower the enemy by allowing them to set up clays to ambush
the other side coming around corners, or kill someone on a rooftop with a nice nade toss. Just things I do when I have a UAV overhead sometimes.

I don't mean to say tho that spotting is bad..it can get annoying after a little while hearing blah, blah spotted over and over. We can sometimes start to tune that out.

Takes 2-3 M95 shots to take out, done it a few times when sniper and waiting for the enemy coming up the hill on Mashtuur. Not really worth making a consciense decision to do it as you dont get points and the UAV is ready to go again not long after.

Better off going to the trailer
