hmmm, i think its going to be around for years to come, same reason people stil play bf1942 vietnam, counter strike, starcraft the original doom....yeah...we wont be seeing the end of bf2 anytime soon especially consierding how many new players come into the game, now way they r just gonna stop playing at coporal.
It'll still be popular for a while... until Enemy Territory comes out. After that, the numbers will drop until only hardcore players and CAL/TWL/etc teams remain...
i think it's gonna be around for a looooooong time like until vr videogames become commercalized. I mean look at diablo it's been out for years and it has pretty limited playability and yet their still able to sell it!!!!!!!.

people CAN play two games at once.
Granted, I know I'll still be around for TWL and CAL, but BF2 will still have fun value in a few years.
Just become a game comes out doesn't mean people will leave another game... :hmm:
well if someone likes the ET more than bf2 then they'll play ET more so basically ignore bf2
like me i play soely bf2 demo and not the bf2142 demo i have....even though its there...must resist
No, I'm just saying that most people won't be playing that much once other good MP games are released. It doesn't mean we won't be playing the occasional bf2 round... but don't kid yourself: it won't be anywhere near as popular soon.
Depends on what you consider obsolete. I have played "better" games in the meantime, but I still come back to BF2 to have fun regardless of win/loss, kd or whatever other stuff (incl. bugs)... As long as there are peole liking the game despite all deficiencies, it will be alive.
