The AS-50 Sniper Rifle is wicked sick!

I have been wanting a semi auto sniper rifle for an unlock for sometime now. I like the SVD for intent and purposes but it's the only semi auto sniper rifle in BF2 and it's only accessible if you are on 1 side. Therefore, I offer a suggestion to include a semi auto sniper rifle as a unlock. The AS-50 does suite this purpose. It's has a 5 round mag of .50 rounds.
It's very accurate in semi auto mode (look at the grouping)

SVD isn't the only semi-auto.. chinese has one.

Type-98 or something.. or 88.. I can never remember.. get the tank/sniper mixed up.. Oh well I never play china.

you seem to be missing the point, he is SAYING that if you are USMC, there is absolutely NO. WAY. you can get a Semi-Auto Sniper, you're stuck with Bolt-Actions.

Can anyone say major points! This game could use a little semi-auto pwnage rifle.

I support the idea for I saw it on Future Weapons as well.

I also support the SMAW being in Bad Company. That building was blown to smithereens on the show!

They won't add it.

Plus, I think this weapon would be a huge imbalance towards the USMC's side. The SVD and the Type-88 (yeah 88 metalicaguitrst) take 3 shots to kill non-armored soldiers and 4 to kill armored. The M-24, M-95, and L96 only take 2 shots to kill either. Obviously, headshots can kill in one on any sniper rifle.

You can always pick up an SVD or Type-88 kit from the ground... well, maybe not always. But you could if you wanted it so badly that you would jeopardize the entire game to have DiCE add it to BF2. You can hunt down a sniper, kill him, and take his kit.

That's not a real concern actually. Just add the option and confirm it to the standards already set in BF2 and that becomes a mute point.

i dont think they can actaully add it..soemthing about the game not being able to support a 4th tier of weapons

I'd just have to say like an AR-15 with scope would make a nice semi auto rifle for USMC.

somethng around that, they would have to drop 1 weapon to be able to add another and that will cause alot of trouble they wouldnt want.

they dont visit here that often, and i very much doubt they wont be adding anything new to the game, BF2 is past its sell buy
