Graphics card ???

I made the mistake of buying an ATI 512 X1300 PCI-e card. It's not terrible, but not what I expected/wanted. I can run BF2 with everything but dynamic light and dynamic shadows on high. It is shotgunable (is that a word?) Should I buy better (maybe way better) card and try shotgunning the 2? It would be pointless to try to resell the card I have now. Or should I just look into buying a nice nvidia card? Also, I have a few question about shotgunning. Can you run 2 different brands of cards or would that cause probs? I'm a gfx noob. Oh, I have an athlon 64 3800+ with 1.5 gigs of ram. I'm running HD, but I don't think that really matters. Help me with your all knowingness.

hmm, since it's ATI it's called "crossfire"

not sure if that model does it actually, but the features on the card mean you wouldn't want to.

a x1950pro 256meg card can costs as little as £122 plus postage (sterling) right now and if you have a good enough PSU that is a wonder in pricing compared to the old pricing of £250 for a top end card with less capability than the x1950 (btw, x1950 has native crossfire builtin, simply slot two of those puppies in a correct mobo and you will go crossfire!)

I run the same as my desktop 1280x960 @75hrz. Is that bad? Be gentle...

Sell it and buy AT LEAST an nVidia 7600GT or an ATI X1800 and up.

You should run ur desktop at 1280x1024, it will look much nicer. Also putting it at a higher res stresses your graphics card more, so for BF2 i would suggest to put it at 1024x768 with the X1300.

It can run BF2 on all high 2xAA and 1280x1024.

I'm going to lower my reso and play like that for a while. But, I'm going to buy a new card sometime soon. I'll look into all of these. Thanks! When I get a new card I'll let ya know what I get. Maybe some more ram too.
