XFX GeForce 7950 GT eXtreme Edition w/ Passive Cooling

Yeah so...graphical artifacts, depleting texture quality, and overall crappiness with BF2. Plays F.E.A.R. at the highest settings possible with no problem(in fact with around 60- 80 FPS average). Plays Far Cry beautifully. Everything except BF2. I've tried everything, rolling back drivers, uninstalling re-installing, restored my PC so it was like brand new and re-installed everything. Still not working. When the textures looked like they should, the card didn't reach over 61C after 13 hours of load. So it isn't overheating or throttling itself back. Heatsink covers the RAM...that's not a problem. Anything?

The first few days I had the card installed, it ran BF2 perfectly at all the highest settings. Then the textures gradually got worse and worse until it looked like I was playing on my X300 again. Restored my OS and re-installed the video drivers and BF2. STILL does it. I even got artifacts one day, half the screen turned black and tan and blinked in different patterns. Of course, restarting set it straight, but the textures still look like crap. No, my video options haven't changed. Really ****ing me off cause it was a 320$ video card that plays the only game I play religiously like sh@t. Any fixes would greatly help me, looking forward to replies.

Firstly, you payed more than other stores would sell the card at.
Second, Passive cooling is not great and that could be a problem
Third, Have you overclocked the card(setting the core and memory speeds higher)

375W with 18A on the 12V rail

Card recommends 350w with 20A on 12V

I've read reviews of guys with 305W Dell PSU's that run it perfectly. I've got the 375 Dell, and Dell's are pretty beastly for proprietary manufacturer products.

Also, a few people that got the card around the time I did are having the same problem, may be a select few cards that came off the line defective, but before I call support, I wanna make sure it's just not my settings/config.

I've read plenty of forum posts that say upgrading their PSU did not fix the problem.

I say again, this only happens with BF2.

I say again, F.E.A.R., which is much harder on the GPU, runs at around 60 FPS with maxed settings.

erm. the minimum required specifications are determined empirically. the gpu/cpu/component stress might not be enough in other games to cause artifacts/corruption

The 7950GT requires a 6-pin power dongle to be plugged into it for proper power, did you remember to attach it.

This just gives me four new reasons to get a new job.

1. nForce SLI 680i mobo
2. Thermaltake Tsunami
3. XCLIO STABLEPOWER 850W ATX Power Supply
and 4, why have an SLI mobo without two cards, the master being a GX2.

Firstly, that PSU is made by a crap brand and there would be no reason for 850W at this point in time
Second, the 8800GTX is the best and unless you are ussing a 30+ inch monitor, there is no reason to SLI them.

I was kidding about the PSU...haha. I hav really never looked at PSUs, so I just found a power supply with a huge amount of power and posted. I'm perfectly content with my DX9. I say screw Vista, screw DX10. I still love me some Far Cry.
