I am using the svd and well i do get agressive(assualting) walking where i want capping flags by myself and making about 6 headshots with one life so i am in the thick of it and should expect to die a bit. but sometimes i stand back a help the fodder but it anoys me when everyone camps but wont cap so i usually have to cap it as a sniper alone

Simple. If you're a sniper and get killed by any other weapon than sniper rifle, you're too close. Back up. You have your advantage in your rifle, it's the accuracy and the scope. You can ALLWAYS see further than others. Use this advantage. Sure, cqc snipers are different story, but they encounter with other classes in short range anyways. But if you're on a rooftop and get pwnd by someone with a lucky shot from their PKM, you're simply too close to him. If you're close to him for some reason, don't use your rifle. Use your pistol. Support players are easy pickings with it. 4 headshots and it's done.

The thing about snipers is they don't always get a headshot, so you'll have 2 bars of health left and plenty of time to kill them since they need to re-load.

That being said, I'd pump up the sniper's damage so that one good shot is a solid kill - almost every time.

I'd lower the armor though to nothing. Right now it's so stupid a running sniper takes as many shots to kill then an assault or supply guy.

i personally think it is balanced, forget real life if you have a sniper that is trying to kill you then it makes sense that you should be able to fight back somehow and not just be doomed to run from a big bad sniper. Second i personally think the special op weapons have horrible accuracy unless you fire it like a grandma (really nice scope though). The PKM has a iron sight which makes it alot harder to accuratly aim at someone plus it has pretty slow rof in my opinon.
i was pretty suprised though when i first took out a sniper from really far away on jalaba(w/e) with the mounted m249 at the usmc base....i think it was the m249.....

I think if they were to do that, getting Sniper kills would be WAY too easy to get.

even at 250+ meters ever seen a real gun?or reality?

I hit 300m targets at every M16A2 range with consistency. I'm not always sure if it's a headshot, as I'm aiming center mass.
Don't talk about real weapons unless you know about that which you are talking.

Uh, 400m is nearly the length across Wake Island, how many maps have sniper's nests with that much range? None.

Wake/Fushee/Dragon/Dalian/Clean sweep/Daquing oilfields.

The distance from one side of wake to the other is only 350m which i consider to be a medium range distance.

380m-600m is long range

i also feel no problem. and i play sniper exclusively.

we don't need more changes that promote ppl playing sniper. there are already too many snipers in the servers.

I have several spots in most 400+ view maps that allow for a shot between 0 - 400 meters.

Wake/Fushee/Dragon/Dalian/Clean sweep/Daquing oilfields.

The distance from one side of wake to the other is only 350m which i consider to be a medium range distance.

380m-600m is long range

Hmm ...

0 - 150m is Short, 150 - 300m is Medium, 300 - 450m is Long and 450 - 600+ is Extreme Long Range.

Exactly, you shouldn't be seen by your victim, your not suppose to be sitting on a street corner with god knows how many guys with G36s and PKM shooting at you.

Like I said... karkand snipers.


Karkand has the lowest visibility of all maps, which enables someone with an accurate gun to out-"snipe" you.
