Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
got busted on chinese maps as spec ops. seems they didn't like my ninja style.
self defence is entirely acceptable.
and frankly, i don;t care for 'no bare rape' rules on infantry maps. if a team;s got organisational superiority to corner the enemy, that's to thier credit.
Spec Ops kit is intended for infiltration behind enemy lines to destroy assets, bridges, and so on; quite frequently that mission requires (but is not limited to) taking out enemy personnel, be it inside of a main UCB or not.
The effort to kick you for a kill inside a UCB was not justified at all, you were doing your job.
I love the way they expect you to just stand there and let them shoot you if cracks me up. You were doing what Spec-Ops are supposed to do, just ignore this guy probably just annoyed that he got killed by someone.
The way I look at it is like this: Its you or me buddy and 9 times out of 10 its going to be the later.
I would say it depends on the server rules, but sometimes that's even so vague there are arguments.
From the servers I've played on that have UCB rules, I'd say you were staying within the limits of the spirit of the rule.
You weren't blasting people as they spawned so you could then take out assets. You were taking out assets and blasting people when that was interrupted by the enemy.
Personally I would have let the engineer repair the asset, then continued taking out assets. Not from a UCB rule stand point , but from a tactical standpoint. As soon as they know your in there ,they'll start looking for you.
Some people's situational awareness sucks. I've see players nearly step on me as I turned their flag. They just don't pay attention. He didn't see you , so he wasn't paying all that much attention already. The additional time the asset would be up, would be worth it to be still hanging around and lurking
Either way find servers that don't have rules. There are not many, but they do exist.
*cough* FLOT *cough*
We don't have any additional rules on any of or BF2 or 2142 servers.
Some servers have this lame *** rule, and all the commander does is drop the magic box on them to repair the asset. then you get banned or kicked because you stayed in the uncap 'and didn't get out' right away.
Base rape is like what happens at Road to Jalalabad, when the USMC cannot get through the Lake or outpost, and the MEC storm to there uncap base, and just pwn.
That is base rape.
I don't see that you were in the wrong,Nothing wrong with destroying strategic objects, helping your team, and getting a few points for it.
The commander or whatever was just a little whining *****.
Yeah, it really depends on the rules. Technically you werent defending yourself if he was repairing something/didnt see you. If it were me, I would have let him go about his business, and then blown the asset.
A special op cant really baserape because technically their not "rapeing" the other team, now if they got in a tank and went around blastin people that would award them a kick and maybe a couple rockets up the *** but their only one person since majority of the time everyone else is capturing flags and actually killing.
I use to play almost exclusively special ops on ghost town and almost every time i'd die while i'm running between assets to plant c4, or after i blow up one or two comm toys.
for the rare occasions that i am able to blow up all the comm toys before i die, hanging around the base killing people is kinda fun and not really unfair because you have no way of knowing where the other person spawns so its still equal chance if they see you first or you see them
I'm so glad my clan doesn't have any stupid no spawn/base camping rules. Makes for a lot less arguments about why a spec ops player was in the base, and there's no noticable increase in people actually base or spawn camping.
Sounds like you need to come play on FLOT's BF2 server
