I hide every round and just snipe, moving around every 10 minutes or so to cover a new flag. It's much more rewarding personally to pull the trigger and headshot an unsuspecting player from 350 meters away, rather than use a j10 and rape the carrier or claymore spam. The only thing I use claymores for is to cover my *** while I snipe. Lots of morons in the game don't learn that I place claymores at obvious routes of approach towards me.. run into them over and over trying to knife me..

listen people if you have started this theard as a karkand thread you should know by now that the increased dust or fog is so heavy that karkand is a dumb map... please if you're going to complain don't complain about an insignificant map like karkand!

I knife n clay spam sometimes. Good fun. I want explosives expert, most I've done is 28, was so close!!
I ran outta the fence (front of karkand) and saw guys running in, dropped a clay, kept going, dropped a clay, bunny hopped, saw 4 more, dropped grenade at feet, hopped, dropped another round the corner where more were, hopped dropped another at the entrance gap, hopped out and got TK'd hahaha then... BOOM BOOM BOOM.. BOOM BOOM!!! you killed you killed you killed you killed you killed... I got a ROFL FAKESOUND from one of the enemies, and a few guys on my side saying nice grenade! not knowing it was like 3 of them with 2 clays and 12 guys

If I will be sniper whole round like Jalalabad IO, my whole team is either sniper, medic or assault, Il start with the M-24 if American or M95 if MEC. I dont have Special Forces (yet) so Im stuck with these choices. But I find a crappy sniper with the L96A1 and wait for him to die, get his weapon almost full ammo and shoot away. If I die, medics hang around me and rev me and I get the L96 back. I got gold 2 times in a row just by being MEC holding the most left bottom base because theyre snipers were too scared too come. As soon as one unlucky n00b got up, *DEAD*. So they camp a hill with their heads sticking out, you can guess what happens next. Theres like me vs. 6 snipers and one by one Im taking them out and their medic is reving them. Think I got like 55 kills that round.

lol thts quiet alot of kills if u wer just a snipa i just bolt up the hills as snipa plant claymores look around to see if i can shoot some1 wit my snipa and then find a medic kit a pick it up lol

Well in the start I was not much of a sniper, (because of their clay-spam reputation) but i must admit playing sniper is really easy. that is why it is called the newbie-kit apparently. The only hard thing playing sniper (which is really hard) is to hide without getting caught and knifed. That is why I think that alot of snipers just skip the hiding and just clay-spam.

I dont play on Karkand. think it is lame with grenade and clay all over the place. I play Dragon Valley and do as Towel, use the clays to cover yourself.
If you are going to cap a flag, then place your clays strategally (spelling) so they cover the entrances to the flag
Ex. place at tempel: the entrance where you jump up to the tempel. Place at River Village: the 3 doorways. etc.

This is very effective and you can cap the flag and take all the time you want, and after that take a position with a sniper-advantage, ex. longhaired grass, bushes etc. and defend the flag you just capped, but keep in mind that is has to be a high position, a mountain or a big hill, and as long way away from the flag as possible. The enemy should not could tell where the shot came from.

A thing i have been wondering about is that all people want the L96A1. Why is that? Personally i think that the one and best sniper in the game is the M24. It is highly accurate and just aim for headshot and you take the enemy out. One shot, one kill. It is so easy, but as soon as i do it with an L96A1 i just cant hit. I dont know why.

About hiding:The truth is that hiding is the biggest and the most important part of sniping. Find a good spot, keep it in mind and move along to find other good spots (stealthly). When you have found a few hiding-spots that is also good shooting-spots, take position in one of them, fire 3-4 shots or so, and then move to another spot. Just keep on doing this all the time. Always remember that the first priority is the other snipers. Always! They look for you too and when they find you, BOOM, you're dead.

I absolutely cannot stand snipers. Most of them REALLY suck at BF2 and only drop claymores at flags. Like said before, way too snipers run around with claymores ready at hand and drop it once they see you. Once you kill them, why the f*uck is their claymore still active for 780296347 minutes?

Sniping is a joke in BF2. Also my favorite loadout, but I digress....

1. A .50 Center mass hit in a realist modelled game disables the target or kills it, our game target waltzes away with 10% life at 100% speed.

2. Visiual range does not give sniper any real advantage, frequently outgunned because the sight ranges in game are 175 meters max, any time ,any where. Shots can be made out to 3/4 mile with in game weapons IRL....

3. Even when sniper "kills" target, medic strolls by and dry humps target for
.1 seconds and they both skip off into sunset (holding hands for how ghey that stupidly superiorly unrealistic functionality is in this game)

4. Claymores actually kill things, no random pot shotting, praying, waiting to reload so maybe the 2 or 3rd center mass hit might kill target. Clays kill 1 shot most times.

5. Funny as heck to take out multiple enemy with 1 clay. LOL every time....

6. Gets you points...

Hopefully this gives you the frustration felt by most snipers in game as to why they resort to clay spamming.
