    Keyboard and mouse or Joystick?

Now I've been playin BF2 for awhile and I'm alright at infantry.(On foot and in tanks and other stuff) But I still haven't learnt to fly helicopters and jets. I think it's so hard trying to fly with a keyboard and mouse. Is it easier playing or flying with a Joystick.
    Who uses what?

Lots of great pilots for helo and some aircraft use the keyboard and mouse. I suffer from too much time with a Joystick and can't make the change back. Joysticks do add a small bit of reality to the flying for me.

There are very affordable sticks out there, but once you make a commitment to using it, you'll want a joystick that will last you forever. Spend the money on your second stick to get a real top end one. The first one though? Go for affordability.

I say KB/M cause I dont have a joy stick...and it would only be a more expensive way to crash a jet

Most top helo pilots fly with Mouse and KB.
Most top jet pilots fly with Joystick, or Joystick + KB or Joystick + mouse.

Choose whatever you would like most. Dont expect this to be easy. if its hard with a Mouse and KB, you can bet your *** that JS is going to be a lot harder, at first.

Cool I'm a give the old keyboard and mouse a chance then.I just thought it was easier with a joystick.

It's all about your setup. Good luck with getting your buttons how you want them because that is just one of many gripes I have with BF2. The controls setup is a nightmare.. There are lines of code in the con that interfere with button assignment. Once that is all figured out the fun begins... to a point!

I'm a kb/mse guy and have been since the very early days of BF1942 Desert Combat. I have the Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical that has a button on both sides that I use for my tail rudder. Left and right main mouse buttons are primary and secondary fire. Then I use w,s,a,d to control the main rotor's pitch (tilt forward/back/left/right), left shift for increase throttle and "Z" for decrease. I like this setup because I like to use the "Rotate view" option (which I binded to space bar I believe) to look around while flying. Another benefit of being kbd/mse is as soon as I eject myself from any flying vehicle, I'm ready in an instant for infantry battle. Even when I tried using a game pad for flying, I'd end up dead several times throughout the game because I was late in getting to my inf controls. Might be cause I'm getting slower in my old age... LOL

Helicopters are all about the keyboard and mouse: it's just so natural. :)

Watch ARMY-DR-'s videos and you'll get the hang of it quickly enough. After you've done that, read my guide(s) and if you feel up to it, learn to solo once you're comfortable with normal flight and gunning.

Good luck, and welcome to the most enjoyable time you can have playing BF2... when people aren't redlining and TKing for them, that is. :)

I prefer joystick. People keep asking me that question online all the time... JOYSTICK!

Thats some good advice, I've just used the default controls in the past. Looks like I might try sum key binding.

I've tried twice now to onvert my jet flying method to joysticks, but both times I've given up as I can't get the hang of it.

I prefer Mouse & keyboard for the helicopters & a joystick for the jets.
Many of the best pilots use joysticks.
