That's bull! I mean, it's just a plain fact that PKM is not accurate. From great distances, say ~100+ it's plain luck to hit anything with PKM. Yeah, sure some Support lovers say it's "SKILL YOU NOOB!" but the fact is, that the deviation of PKM (which is huge) has absolutely nothing to do with skill. It's pure luck wheter you hit what you're aiming or not. Sure, PKM is total killer point blank to medium ranges since it's just so powerful.


Same goes with l85 really, not the most accurate weapon there is :/

But i'd still take PKM if i had to choose, just cuz of the sound :P :)

It's plain fact not many people know how to shoot with some guns.

And I don't use unlocks because the default guns already are very good guns.
But I have played with the PKM sometimes and the difference between the RKP is the damage per bulllets but it compensate it with less Accuracy.

But most of the time it's about how you aim and not the gun it self.

Sure, if you master a weapon, you can enchance it a bit. But not much. PKM for example, sure, if you learn how it behaves, you can get good hits with it more often than someone that doesn't use the weapon. But yet, no matter how darn good you are with the weapon, you still have to deal with the fact that the weapon has it's limits.

I don't know, as much as the figures say, it's still VERY easy to snipe someone with semi-auto fire. Plus, each shot from the PKM is as powerful as the SVD, which = win in my books.

I unlocked the L85 first though.

PKM is deadly, even at 100 + metres. I used to be brilliant with it, but I use the RPK-74 only now as it's just insane. I've started using the M249 SAW but I hate it at long ranges. I rarely use the PKM now though, but when I happen to pick it up I can still kill with it, but no where near as effective as I once was.

they cant be compared. they both own if you know how to use them. the only way to choose between them is to decide which kit you will use more

Uh, don't you guys remember them nerfing the sh!t out of the PKM. Which patch was it? 1.2 or something, the PKM because really powerful and accurate. Great weapon. Then all the craybabies came, moaning to EA that it was unfair. Of course, you know EA listens to the whiners more than it does to the logical people, so they nerfed the **** out of it. Not its probably no better than a shotgun that you gotta lay down to fire with.

OK OK, its sorta OK if you fire 1 bullet at a time. But there are better guns for doing that.

In my opinion, I'd still unlock the PKM, so that on your next unlock, you can get the G36 which is much better.

I'm not relying on my experience with the support kit. I'm relying to the facts that are written in the actual code.

Here it is.

If you crouch instead of stand, support weapons are about the same accuracy as most assault rifles. If you go prone, the EU HK21 even beats the G36E and the PKM and MG36 are just a hair worse than G36E. Zooming does give the assault rifles an edge since support weapons get no accuracy bonus from zooming.

To be honest, almost any gun in BF2 can pwn. Just the matter of learning how to use it efficiently.

If you shoot the PKM in 1-3 shot bursts, you will almost be guaranteed to hit the enemy once in every 3 shots from 100m-150m distances. Considering the power of the PKM, that is actually a very good ratio.

Often you can beat Snipers to the kill if they hesitate.

The RPK is just as good as the PKM regarding long distance kills, however it does less damage, and therefore requires more shots to kill. Worse yet, it doesn't give you the chance for a lucky one-shot headshot.

I prefer the pkm. With long range targets I use short bursts, usually 2-3 rounds at a time. 9 times out of 10 I get a hit with each burst.
