SVD and M24 are the best snipers in the game... period. **** the L96A1.

^Both good for close and medium range but +250meters, L96A1 is best. On city maps SVD is a real killing machine.

well after owning with well first it was the g3 then it went to pkm and i sniped heaps with that and mowed there grass doin it:p

my fav was and maybe still is the ak101???

the m95 was crap for me so i went back to the m24 and noticed i was 110% better

but now my fav gun is the SVD a very underestimated gun even at 20 meters and 1000 meters.headshots a plenty and 1 shot if u can master it

well, for me after 500+ hours my favorite weapon is still the M16A2. On Medium to Long range single shot I can kill almost as well as a sniper. In fact I usally go sniper hunting with it when I can. If I can't have that I prefer the AK.

In my book; Medium Range 150 - 300 meters, Long Range is 300 - 450 meters. You might have a very small chance to hit a sniper at 200 meters, beyond that you cannt even make them out from their surroundings. If you can get away with killing snipers with a M16A2 you probably were facing very poor snipers.

The M24 and the l96a1 are just as powerful...so most people just choose to go with the rifles that are more accurate. The only advantage the m95 has over the other sniper rifles is the ability to shoot through armored glass...but how often does the chance to shoot an enemy chopper pilot really come up?

Eh no. The M95 has the ability to do 95 damage on ALL infantry personel. Even if they are wearing body armour. The M24sws and the L96A1 get a reduction on the hit they make on the target. On a full health soldier it still takes 2 shots from either the M95 or the M24/L96 to take him down. If the target has sustained damage previously the M95 will kill on the first hit most of the time. With the M24/L96 the chance is less to get that kill with the first hit.

I`ve noticed that all the guns are accurate as f*ck without the ironsights. I mean, with RPK I can easily snipe people without using ironsights.
See an enemy> insta-prone> fire 3 shots> enemy dead.

BF2 is one weird *** game.

SVD <---i think its stuped....the L96A1 is much better ( more accurecy more damage ) i like carreing this wepon if u have an unlock available i advice u to get it if u dont have it....and in my opinion as the normal wepons...the AK-47 is my fevoret machine gun and i still use it

The only way you're getting a long range kill in BF2 is either by fog hacking or muzzle flashes. If you pay attention to muzzle flashes, you can kill people from the roof of Square to Suburb on Karkand. Muzzle flash FTW!

I read this entire thread, up to this point. I was hopeing someone would mention the sniper tactic I came up with on the Wake Island map. I normally start that map, when Im USMC, on the small Island where the USMC artillery is, snipeing people on the main Island. Of course you can only see the north and south parts of the Island but I can usually kill them with ease from there. They, PLA snipers, are easy to see as long as they move around and for some reason they always do.
I know this really doesnt have much to do with this topic but I couldnt resist. . . . . .Red
