600+hrs and now i like this gun!!and not a unlock!

well after owning with well first it was the g3 then it went to pkm and i sniped heaps with that and mowed there grass doin it:p

my fav was and maybe still is the ak101???

the m95 was crap for me so i went back to the m24 and noticed i was 110% better

but now my fav gun is the SVD a very underestimated gun even at 20 meters and 1000 meters.headshots a plenty and 1 shot if u can master it

so in my old age maybe im sick of chasing flags in a circle noobing at 2 meters away so now im defending flags like no one does but its a few bullets and the svd ftw! for me

anyone else pick or like this gun?
m24 close second and i got my expert sniper with the svd

finially i must say the clays are fuxored now tho:cry: :cry:

SVD and M24 are the best snipers in the game... period. **** the L96A1.

Yeah I like the SVD and m24, very accurate. But the M95 sucks ***. L96A1 isnt so bad.

The SVD is not a sniper rifle, it is a scoped assault rifle, way overpowered for what it is, it is the AUG of BF2.

Argue if you want, but it is true. It needs more deviation, after the first shot. And no, I am not whining because I get "owned" by the SVD, I rarely every get killed by it, and I never use it, because when I go sniper, I use a sniper rifle. I do not just spam my claymores and fire wildly running down the street, which is what SVD user's do the majority of the time.

All I know is it still takes me 2/3 of a clip to kill someone that I am running behind, who hasn't seen me yet, and the muzzle is up to the back of his head, and I see the bullets registering. >:-(

Wrong, it is a semi-automatic sniper rifle. It is not an assault rifle.

I prefer the L96. Today I unlocked it, had enough of bloody picking up kits with it.

The PKM shoots the same powered bullets (45dmg per hit) as the SVD, and the scoped zoom on the SVD is pretty crap, PKM = win. And if you really want accuracy, it doesn't hurt to go semi-auto with it.

Well I almost any MEC default weps own like the AK is the only gun I use for medic when I am MEC or assualt and the SVD I use if I am at close range sniping.

I love the M95.
The biggest problem with people that have hate for it is that they pick the sniper kit and think "OMG headshots" and yes the M95 is a bit tricky to get HS with ince it can be so damn inaccurate.
Take the M95 and aim right at the torso, after that the slightest dmg and tha dude is dead.
Ill trade insta kill head shots for 95% dmg in the torso.

well, for me after 500+ hours my favorite weapon is still the M16A2. On Medium to Long range single shot I can kill almost as well as a sniper. In fact I usally go sniper hunting with it when I can. If I can't have that I prefer the AK.

SVD's such a noob gun, it reminds me of my days of CS where people could use sniper rifles at point blank, this is just a gun for people who still remember awp whoring >.>
But whatever, it might float your boat but it sinks mine.

The M24 and the l96a1 are just as powerful...so most people just choose to go with the rifles that are more accurate. The only advantage the m95 has over the other sniper rifles is the ability to shoot through armored glass...but how often does the chance to shoot an enemy chopper pilot really come up?

SVD is not a dedicated sniper rifle. It was meant to cover weaknesses of the old 7.62x39 round in the soviet army. As you know, 7.62 performs badly at long range and thus soviets felt like they needed a cheap and reliable marksman rifle to be given to every squad to increase it's range. SVD even comes with IRON SIGHTS and BAYONET.

And I love SVD in BF and I'd like to see it as unlock for assault, just like in real life.

The only advantage the m95 has over the other sniper rifles is the ability to shoot through armored glass...

I'm pretty sure M95 does more damage to body armor too, just slightly though.
