haha, reminds me of a funny story. My roommate and I were playing IO Jalalabad, long time ago. He was MEC Medic, and I was US sniper. I kept sniping the same guy around a rock, little did I know my room mate was just reviving him everytime I killed him. And I just waited for his computer to play the Defib. sound and I'd shoot right where his head would keep popping up. Went on for about 11 kills for me until he was unable to revive the poor sap.

hmmm... that sounds like stat padding... anyway, what I'm about to say sounds similiar lol...

if I want to bolster my points when at range and I see a medic and someone else, I keep killing the 'someone else', waiting for the medic to revive him... so I can kill him again. Most medics don't clear the area, they just keep reviving, hoping someone else will fight.

But if I'm about taking a flag or wiping out a group in the same position, I aim for the medic first...

Screw this advice. It doesn't hurt K/D Ratio and can save your team a ticket, more often then not if I am being fired on straight after being revived I can take out at least 1 enemy. Please revive me anytime anywhere for any reason. Its people like you that I get annoying at on pubs for trying to find the enemy while I lay critically wounded with 3 seconds left till respawn. It can be the difference between capping or losing a flag, or infact winning or losing a game.

hehe i was standing right next to a guy I killed close range with a sniper rifle and this medic comes running to revive him so I shoot them both, then another bunch come running so I put a claymore there and got 3 kills with 1 claymore.

I don't know about 7 meters. I know you don't have to actually touch them. It might be lag on your end that gives the perception of greater distance though.

Wisdom comes with experience, thats why you see higher ranked player, eg, Gunnery Sergeant and above either, nade the area first, wait for backup, or don't revive at all.

That's in my experience anyway. As a medic, my first priority is to keep myself alive, dropping med packs where necessary.

Newer players dont know the tricks of the trade, therefore the thought of clearing the area won't even come into their heads!

You might not draw attention to yourself with the "Medic!" call. But I think any medic nearby would still see you on their mini map as dead.

It's really about what's happening right then... if I just saw you get shot and I see who shot you... I'm going to shoot them first, and then revive you... you've got time. My existence isn't based on your health.

But if I'm just passing through and I see you dead, I don't go on some stealth mission to find the enemy but I do check around... and yeah, then I revive you.

And "it's people like you" that attract a lot of noob teammates to their death, squawking for a revival whether it makes sense or not, like a herd of goats following themselves right off a cliff.

I have mixed feelings about this!

One one hand I would like to think that the person that is reviving me has cleared the area.

On the other hand, I don't care as long as when I am revived, I stay alive.

But which ever the case, if you die and are revived 10 times before dieing for good. It still only counts as one (1).

I come over strafing crounch on the guy....kill any1 around then revive and stay next to him till he is safe....yeah i am the best lol

Anyone else noticed a significant drop in medics on most pub IO servers?

I agree with the OP and find myself often annoyed by the average medic. However, there are still a few good ones that know how to evaluate the situation and determine if it's worth reviving you or not.

Actually, something that bothers me more is the lack of med packs being dropped. Many Medics won't even blink and eye if you are requesting health or even drop med packs near a squad of troops in a heavy combat zone. "If you're not dead, then you're not worth helping" kind of attitude.
