The Jian J-10 is one of the best fighters in the world. Maybe electronic counter measures? Never heard anyone mention that.

This is BF2, not LOMAC2.

The jets were all perfect before the 1.2 patch. The F-35 could actually survive for more than 30 seconds, because it took skill to get AA missiles to hit (I'm talkinga bout 1.12 after those initial AA "tweaks"). After 1.2, the J-10 and MiG dominate the skies, with the F-18 showing its colors when the enemy MiG pilot sucks.

I was on Dragon last night in an F35 and found myself on a J-10's six. I fired two missles and I think one hit (wow!), then 4 missles and watched as the last missle actually hit and blew him up. Now THAT is frickin amazing! Only took six shots to down a J10.

Then I went back to ground-pounding because an F35 killing a J10 is about as embarassing as being killed by a shock paddle and I didn't want to be the subject of his revenge.

Hey now...they have more than that...doors you dont have to open...the option to "morph" to the gunner position at any time! Come on..theyre great!

Yes sir....Our fords are great! Will be untouched by gunfire...AT mines and C4 will destroy you...but thats a given...however..if you fall 3 feet because of a small hill you didnt see...you will SEVERLY damage your vehicle!

LOL I almost spit my drink out all over my monitors when I read this!! This guy must live in China where all they get is propaganda... meanwhile if he/she/it paid attention to the real world he/she/it would have seen that the J-10 performs so poorly in the real world that it's being retasked as a "fighter/bomber" already in its career...

I have seen this phenomenon too but I just chalked it up to me being a noob pilot. I have gotten on a J-10's six, waited for the perfect time where i had him lined up flying straight on a bombing run, switched to missiles as he was diving, locked him as he dropped the bombs, he pulled up & dropped flares, i stayed on him, switched back to bombs and then back to missiles after flying through his flares, locked him up hard and clean, fired all 5 missiles, they all, one-by-one went right up to his afterburner and then dropped off like they ran out of fuel... it was unreal...

EDIT: and yes, i'm aware that is officially the world's longest run-on sentence... get over it...

to take out a j10 u come up behind with you bombsites up, then when ur are clsoe enough switch to missile and imedalty fire, even if u dont have a lock the missile should lock on in flight and take him down.

Trying to answer the original question about the missiles going funny 3 feet from the target, yes, this happens all the time. Once they "dodge" their target, they can home to a small degree after that. I sometimes will miss the Mig and have 2 missiles hit the Mec attack chopper and get 2 kills.

Since they changed the missile code in 1.2 (?) this is the case. For this reason, a lot of people have asked that when the missile loses target like this, to at least detonate and do some splash damage, rather than teamkill your Cobra 100 feet in front of the J10.

I second that. The best way to kill a J10 is to come in behind it while it is lining up to shoot the Essex gun, and as it opens fire, you fire too. Generally, the only 100% way to easily kill a J10 (while it's in the air) besides pre-planted C4
