I did what other posters have mentioned in this thread. I gave 2142 a hell of a shot, but there's something about BF2 that holds my attention longer.

I think it could be the maps. 2142 maps seem to play out the same way every round. No matter what server your on. The small maps don't have enough elbow room, and the larger maps seem to flat. The "action" isn't channeled to certain areas like on the larger BF2 maps.

Not to mention the BF engine just doesn't do a good job with interior CQC. Or they didn't scale the interiors correctly. What ever it is, it makes Titan mode simply not worth playing. I get fine frame rates inside the Titan, but the play has nearly a console button mashing feeling.

The whole acquisition of a target and firing seems rather unrewarding in 2142. I could be just me, but when I bring up the iron sites in BF2 it makes me feel like I'm making a better and more concentred effort. I don't get that feeling with the 2142 small arms.

I came back to Bf2 after a couple of weeks, and I was tearing up the local servers with a couple of 100 or even 150 points per round games.

About the only thing I COULDN"T do was charge a tank with my knife. Everything else was just more points for me.

I gave it a longer break (bout a month, no internet access) and I got my *** handed to me the last time I played.

Seriously.

I don't know if I've just lost anything I ever had, or if there are more decent players comming back. Asides from the frustration of dying in instances I shouldn't have (3 hits from the shotgun to the head? WTF!?!?!?!) I found the game was much more enjoyable. I can't wait to get my connectin back up and start playing it more frequently again.

People listen to attack or defend orders. They work as semi decent teams, hell people even more or less know how to use smoke grenades!

yea course im wrong people who ctd have poorly setup pc's.
i guess u will say that you get them too? badly overclocked pc's will ctd as well :)

BF2 completely owns 2142. It took my just 2 days to realize that 2142 is crap...and within those two days all I could think about was going back to BF2. It's totally worth coming back to.
