Only think I agree with here is that the Havok is a peice of ****e. The choppers are good for different things, I'm strictly a gunner (bad pilot) and for me the moving cobra is easier to hit. The Z-10 dominates on Daquing, the only thing the cobra is good for is manueverability. If you can get a z-10 sliding right like hwn can then its a lot harder to hit then a cobra.

Depends. A skilled chopper-crew will say the Cobra, since the TV missile is positioned better and it's a smaller and more manoeuvrable chopper. Less skilled people (especially the ones in the gunner-position) will say the Havok, since even when you can't aim for sh*t you can make a descent amount of kills with that cannon.

I used to love the EuroCopter (Tiger) the most, but when I started flying the Apache around at night on SF, I found it was really the best bird in the whole game.

Oh yeah I love the Apache at night. I played my first night map a couple of weeks ago with that chopper. The infantry had no idea where they were getting smashed from. Nothing like reigning death from above.

Ive had the same kind of arguments about with jet pilots, and the jets were MiG-29 vs F-18, when it came to dogfight.

There are 2 categories. Best of all in 1 vs 1. And best of all in its ability to inflict maximum damage.

Youre the one who thinks 1 vs 1 is it. But that really wont help you out when theres a relentless jet pilot after you, would it?

On another turn, if the opposing chopper is constantly downed, so you wont have to worry about it, Mi-28 will do a hell of a lot more damage than the Cobra.

1 vs 1 isnt always THE category.

I agree with Chris.

Keep in mind though, Sloi has his own e-penis shoved so far up his arse he doesn't think straight walking around all funny like that and all.

I hate the SF choppers, their TV missile sights are much lower than in vanilla BF2.

The Mi-28 has a great gun, but bugged missile. It's big and a easy target.
The Z-10 is just like the Cobra, AH-1z.

My favorite is the Cobra, cause it sounds better imo and is more nice, than the chinese chopper.

The likelyhood of a good chopper team needing to go after infantry is so ridiculously low on most maps that it's not worth bothering with: even then, you can get proficient at using the regular cannons with a modicum of effort. In reality, your job should always be engaging helis and armored ground targets: if you're doing it properly, your own armored units and infantry can take care of the rest. An AH1Z is the best choice in all situations and expounding on the reasons would be wasted time...

Your experience vs mine.

My experience says- you will never have the Cobra driving USMC forces off the main land in less than 4 minutes. Ive witnessed that a lot myself. Like I said, you let Cobra loose, your team may recover. You let the Havoc loose, its game over.

Apache and z-10 are pretty much equal, MI-28 is an easy traget by everything, very slow, very big, very easy to TV missle. Any good Helicopter pilot/gunner will tell you same.

He's right it's like hitting a rhin with a slug gun.
My personal fav in BF2 is the Z-10 mostly because the J-10's arn't on your a$$ half the time your flying.
But of corse my fav in real life is the super cobra!!! AH-1Z onwzzzzzz.
Check out it's fire power. (I know it's not an AH-1Z...)

Well if by "not a bad guy" you mean isn't an axe-murderer, I agree. But if you take a look at Sloi's postings, he has to tout how much of a god he is in solo every time. It just gets boring to read.

Trust me in the beginning I used to be interested in what you had to say, Sloi. Now you are just a broken record about how good you are and no one comes close to understanding you because you operate at such a higher level than the rest of us... and I believe that influences your opinions on things.

I agree with Chris, each helo has it's purpose given the situation and what exactly you are comparing. Chris has a tendency to weigh all aspects of a given situation and then comment. His posts are very refreshing, detailed, always insightful to read. That's all I meant to convey in less words.

A bit off topic but question for all you soloing pros, do you still manage to use the chopper cannons effectively (while soloing) or has the extra spinning in the new patches rendered it useless?

Sloi hasnt really said or written anything to hold against him. The fact that he may come off agressive sometimes, or maybe even arrogant can be forgiven because he just wants to get a point across. In the end, were all masters of certain aspect of the game, or we seem that way to ourselves.

You can blame PW to have the same kind of "bad" attitude, but I personally respect his posts and his opinion nonetheless. They dont patronize unless provoked, and their opinion is based both on experience and well put arguments.

Thanks for the compliment, its much appreciated, but I also know I can come off agressive very often. Just so you know, its not the ego, nor are my nerves breaking. I just choose that approach to get a point across as fast as possible, with maximum impact. Nobody likes to argue and post one thing 10 times over and over again.

In this topic, right now too much people are focusing in 1 on 1 abilities of the chopper. If we used the same mentality to compare jets, J10 would win. But some of the pilots think beyond their 1 on 1 capabilities, and thus youve got a whole assortment of differences of opinions.
