Thats when the most of the dust comes out of the enemies...

And as a tip, go for the AK-101 as much as you can, it pwns M16 at medium-long, medium and short range, stay hidden, always revive squad leader first.

Nah you just can't see it at long range :)

Yeah, I always switch to AK from M16 if I see a kit laying around. Not quite as accurate as single-shot M16, but the full-auto and increased power is enough for me to favor it.

When using the AK (and any automatic gun, including the coaxial machine gun on the tank) keep in mind that the sounds are unsynchronized. The gun sounds like it is firing a lot faster than it is. You can test this by quickly tapping your fire button near a wall - what sounds like three shots is only two, half the time.

Through years of playing FPS games I have synchronized my automatic-fire aiming to the sound of the gun, so for me, at least, this presents quite a problem to adjust to (the sounds are fixed in the BF2Pro competition mod used by CAL and TWL, by the way). Try turning off your sound sometime; you will adjust to synchronizing with the flare of the gun and the recoil movement of your screen and crosshairs, and it may actually be easier to play. The only thing you really need sound for is for hearing shots hitting around you so you know to move out of the way, so you hear where guns are being fired from, and to hear oncoming vehicles (too bad you do actually need to hear those things, as spotting/UAV in pubs is never comprehensive, otherwise I would have sound off all the time). You can try to stay synchronized with flare and screen movement with sound on, but after a year and a half I still can't fully shake it. You will still probably play better with this information in mind, though.
