LOL no the best, was when AT mines were destructable...

So you could put like all 5 on a flag radius, then throw a grenade and blow everyone up.

My personal favorite mine spot is on Warlord. Play with the S12K, the Jackhammer is less accurate and does less damage.

At the entrance to the Palace Security Office, lay three mines across it. That's enough to catch ATVs. If you want to be conservative use one, it will catch everything except very cautious ATVs. Hide in the little sandbagged security tower to the west of the entrance. You are safe from artillery and infantry coming in have their back to you, perfect for shotgun kills. Vehicles can't get near you. It's perfect.

I just find a hot CP (friendly) and place them on any roads connecting to it, I aim for stopping vehicles, not blowing them up (but i perfer the second one).

This is from my little bag of tricks. When I find enemy mines I like to lay my mines right behind them and then remove the enemy mines. That way I usually can count on a kill and still have a full supply of mines. Good Luck. . . . . . . . .Red

I have a couple of sure fire tricks.

              1. As mentioned, place on the downslope of a bridge ramp or hill where they won't be seen until it's too late.

              2. At any railroad crossing (i.e. Karkand and Oman), place them BETWEEN the tracks. Very difficult to see. On Karkand, I can guarantee a half dozen kills per round with this tactic alone.

              3. Shallow water is also an excellent hide, and most players will miss them until it's too late. Songhua is great for this, as it tends to be a real cat and mouse chase anyway.

              4. When the enemy is trying to mine the entrances to thier bases or spawnpoints (i.e popular on the hotel at oman, etc), place one of your mines in with thiers. They think they can drive through thier own mines, but will usually not see yours.

              5. For a vehicle steal, run in and mine the occupied tank or apc so the driver knows what you are doing. He will often try to jump out and kill you, so immediately jump in and steal his ride. Don't forget to kill him with it for the ultimate insult.

              6. And of course don't forget to pick up enemy mines. The life you save may be your own. :)

Also, lots of people don't know this, but if you plan on laying them all out, it's best to lay them in a W shape.

                Like.

                O O

                O O

                O

But a bit further apart so if I tank runs over one it won't blow up the others :)

                    Yeah!!
I used to lay them in a line away from the flag.
And when the enemy was near the flag i detonated the last mine, which detonated the next, and so on. Flag defended!

Had a lot of fun with this strategy.

Best unless they fixed it was to drop a mineslightly in front of a claymore and wait. when they clay goes off, made the mine go off as well as a localized AOE bomb.

Won't this have the same effect for both teams? Can't a tank of your own team also see a friendly mine, drive over it and get killed by the enemy mine?

Thanks for all the tips people! I have many new ideas already!

Yes, but your side will see five mines with a friendly mine symbol over ONE of them. The other side sees five mines with a friendly mine symbol over FIVE of them. It's not quite the same.

Here's a stupid question. Say I drop a single mine in the road. Along comes a tank. Driver sees the mine and trys to stradle it. Will the mine detonate? Does the tread of the tank have to hit the mine? I never have been able to figure that one out.

Any part of the tank can roll over it and set it off. I also like to booby trap tanks and APC's by placing a mine underneath them, cap the flag, leave the booby trapped vehicles and in no time at all you get your kills.

Yeah ive done this a few times but recent experiences since v1.41 lead me to believe that unmaned vehicles blow up as well now. This is because when i placed one near to it it blew up as soon as i stood up and there was no one near me.
