Good spots to place AT Mines?

Allright. I've decided to give the engineer kit another chance. I still have'nt found the appeal with this kit and usually just played it when being commander. But now I'm gonna give it a try. Before i start doing this I would really like to know some good tips and tricks. Especially where to place the AT Mines? If someone would like to put in a thread in the Tips%Tricks section or just post some here would be very nice!:)

    All help is appreciated!

    Cheers

    Under tanks.

Just place them at common choke points that enemy vehicles routinely pass by It's a great way to stop a tank from raping a spawn.

Place AT mines in tall grassy areas or common tank access points. If there's a slope road, place it at the really top so that when the tank is coming up, it doesn't see it at first.

Also, if you're close to an enemy tank and it isn't moving a lot, run up and place a mine in front and a mine in back of it.

In control points that are capture often or about be captured, place AT mines underneath any unused nearby vehicles. That way, when the enemy jumps in a vehicle, he'll blow up instantly.

Place em on bushes in the road, then place one in the open to make the driver swerve into the hidden mine, for instance on Dragon Valley when you spawn at 'control point I think?' on MEC walk down the road a little and you'll see two or three great spots for doing this. Also the far side of any bridge drop a mine or two on the end of the bridge ramp this will always catch those buggy boys.

Yeah i've tried this tactic. I always tend to put them on the iside corner of a bend, they take the inside driving line cause its quicker and i get the message "You killed ..............."

Tall grassy areas and also if there is a dip like on karkand were you go straight and then you go down place them just after the slope that is usally a easy kill.

just think of where you would drive and put them there. just make sure not to put them in broad daylight, any grass makes them nearly invisible.

What I don't like about AT mines is that they don't activate right away. So if you put a mine behind a tank, and it backs up right away, it won't blow him to pieces.

Re: Good spots to place AT Mines?

I allways place mines in areas where enemy vehicles travel. I usually place them on the very top end of a hill where the road begins to flaten out from an incline so the driver cant see them in the road becuase his field of view is facing up instead of the on road if that makes any sence. I also lay them in the grassy areas of the road, but I never put to much because it just becomes to obvious, I just put one or if I want him to go a certain way then ill make it obvious and place a bunch in one entrance so he has to go around and put one in an inconspicuous place at the other entrance and hope he hits it or just wait and when he stops sneak up on him and lay them behind him and infront of his tracks and just wait for him to go boom.
I hate this kit though..I thinks its the hardest kit to play because of his weapon. Im allways getting shot at and I cant shoot back due to the range and me having a shot gun

I know that sucks a bit on the other hand this way you will not get killed by the explosion and a - score. Trow them on top of the tank can do the trick.

One things for sure, mine kills are the most satisfying, because you pretty much just made the person kill themself.

in the grass just on the outside of the sandbags surrounding the flag at Surveillance Point (sharqi peninsula). You always get some guy in a tank who is too worried about infantry to notice it and thinks he's can cap the flag while racking up some easy kills.... Boom!

Oh man there were so many awesome tricks you could with a combination of Claymores, Nades, and mines back when FF was off for Clays and mines.

I like to put the AT mine next to the tank, and if they arent moving and I am getting impatient, you chuck a nade at it to move it ever so slightly so it sets off the AT mine. OWNT.

Place a mine smack dab in the middle of a road and then 2 on the sides in the grass. Farther up a bit place the mines in the grass farther out, so if they swing farther you still get'im. Also put them on the top of a hill, so they cant see them until it is too late, another great tactic is to place 3 in a row across the road with no way to swerve around them. When they see them they will stop and then back up. Simply dart behind them and throw your remaining to mines 3 meters or so behind them... I am no expert as an engineer but I do have The Marksman Infantry Medal (requires all veteran badges).
