Hmmm...the downloaded install files (setup.exe's) that are saved under the EA Link directory (the folder names are obscure) have always worked for reinstalling for me.
I only use EA link when I absolutely, positively must, and even then, an ample supply of liquor is requisite to increase my bug-tolerance level.
edit: in fact, you can burn the folders to a cd and have yourself a nice little DRM approved, fair-use, all rights reserved, trademark compliant, backup installation cd, inc. I've got mine in the same case as my BF2 and SF cd's.
