LOL? I don't know how many times my AK101 or M16 has saved the lives of tankers and flankers (hey, a rhyme! :O)
You know, you don't need a big fat crosshair and 10X zoom to kill a target. You don't need to be 500m away in the first place to stop said enemy planting C4.
The difference being that I can engage any target between my position and said 500 meters while you are still stuck in some alley on Karkand :laugh:
Everyone just hates snipers because they kill you alot.
I hate them because they oblivious to the game that is going on around them, especially when they don't realize that they are the only player on their team left

Wow you are so original ... so apparently you cannot defend even one single flag and in the end thats the fault of the lone sniper thats still left. I hope you fail less at life.
With sniper its the most thankless job in the whole game. I cant even count how many lifes I have saved without anybody knowing that I saved there lifes. From people putting C4 on tanks, to the enemy flanking our infantry.
yeah agreed...and all those kill damage assists i get...like i shoot someone, and then someone else finishes him off usually...but its alright
theres different types of snipers so you cant call all snipers worthless. When I play as sniper I still take spawn points and cover teamates while they grab certain spawn points. I also call out vehicles and enemy players to give team mates a heads up..im more an aggressive sniper and move with my team. Then you have those snipers that stay in one spot and just sit there pretty much the whole game and not move just shoot and rack up kills and watch there spawn point get took and not even go get it back or cover team mates. Thats a worthless sniper to me. If theres too many snipers on a map I usually have to go sniper untill we get a better position. Theres worthless assualt guys and AT guys and meds etc too...its not the kit its the player.
ahaha good story about claywhores..... i saw someone on UAV and went to the ground with my mg36, a sniper came running around with a clay out, i killed him ,he tosses it, lands right infront of my face. i didnt move because i didnt want to die...obviously. he came back 3 more times and tried to kill me(i got em every time) before his claymore finally disappeared and i could go on.
ANYWAYS...i snipe...i join a squad though... i run ahead, pick people out of cars and throw down the occasional claymore around the base in clear vision of the otehr team ( my favorite thing to do...taunting them) since im not worried about the kill. but its those people that i mentioned above, and the snipers that sit on a roof for the whole game and end up being 2-0(with claymore kills) until he gets knifed for not paying attention
I never start a round as a sniper, partially because there is very little good sniper play until a flag or two has dropped, and partially because I cannot help as much in that first strong push for a flag.
However, if I see a ton of enemy snipers trying to defend early (i.e. multiple snipers on the cranes and/or dominant rooves), I will spawn in with that kit and countersnipe freely. I hate seeing multiple snipers on the same platform. Not only does it make a marginal hide worthless when you add multiple silhouettes, but you both have the same angle and targets to shoot at.

Two snipers on the same team/squad, and spotting for each other when they can't take the shot themselves can be very effective.
Same as machine gunners running up the center of the battle. That is not how the weapon was designed to be used in real life, and it doesn't work any better in the virtual world. A machine gun dead center to the attack is a juicy target, while a MG on the flank is devastating and often goes unnoticed until the entire assault has been repelled.
When i play (which hasn't been in months... stupid PC dying) i only play as Sniper. I'm a squad leader and help my team out. I understand there is plenty of newbs or what not who think the sniper kit is the greatest thing sliced bread... they usually die very fast in a round.
My stats aren't that great... but i'm improving them. Once my new machine is up and running it's back to the hides for me.
Snipers have there uses, and that is all that can be said. If someone wants to play sniper and be a great team player, it is possible. If someone wants to just sit there and get 4 kills all round, while just kind of sitting there, that to is ok. The only snipers I have a problem with are the idiots that run around with there claymores out, throw them down when they see an enemy, die, but still get two kills.
When snipers die, there claymores should go away instantly, this isnt a absolute realism game.

those guys that you take out with one bullet from your aimless spraying, most likely had been shot at by a sniper. then they think "oh im so good killing people so easily" and carry on calling snipers useless
yea there are many **** snipers in the game, but quite alot will bone the **** out of you. ive had loads of people come after me, rushing and getting close up, only for me to dive out from behind a wall and headshot them. even if your a medic, your still gonna ****ing die if your close to me.
The original post was the cumulative effect of repeated rounds on Ghost Town in which nearly 3/4's of my team was a Sniper.
Even when we had lost all of our bases and I told them 'You guys wonder why we're losing? You're all playing ****ing Sniper!" they proceeded to sit around and do jack ****.
I also failed to mention that my favourite kit is the Sniper, except I am forced to abandon it far too often because half of my team are excessively bad Snipers.
Besides, I never called Snipers worthless. A few Snipers on a team are very effective, but when the majority of the server is playing as a Sniper, they ARE worthless.
to all the sniper kit is the hardest we have no amour it takes us two shots unless we hit in the head plus after each shot we have to pull the bolt back unless your mec and your using the auto but if you try to fire the auto to fast you have to let the barel settle down.the sniper is one of the hardest kits to play
