nice written. Alltho it doesnt gave me anything new hehe :p , also i never prone as a sniper lol. Im kinda the "Assault Sniper" kinda guy, who keeps moving forwards, and snipes people standing most of the time (or crouching sometimes)

and for the claymores, they are very handy to defend flags (or at least slow enemies of capturing them anyway)

The Assault Sniper you are referring to would be the Designated Marksman in military terms.

I tested the bullet drop factor, have been testing it for about a month now. I noticed that the numbers on the M95 scope view is in my theory calculation for meters, 6-600m and so on. I've been able to hit targets out at that distance every so often using this compensation, though there is rarely a map that you can see this distance I will try and confirm this tonight and will be testing it more throughout the week.

I love it when I just get on a roll and I don't get killed for like 25 kills. They're usually with the SVD or L96, though I do get many with the M24. It's where you're sniping about 20m from the enemy taking them out quick, running, bunny hopping, all that. It's a great feeling when you're sitting on top of a building with the M24 (I like it because it's just as accurate as the L96, and has less bullet drop I think) and you watch a 6 man medic squad come by. You take one out with a headshot as he comes in but is revived. You take the reviver out and the whole squad starts shooting at one of your own. And you headshot every single one. The ones that got revived start running after a tank or something shows up and you headshot them too.

I love sniping.

It's a great feeling when you're sitting on top of a building with the M24 (I like it because it's just as accurate as the L96, and has less bullet drop I think)...

You think wrong. Bulletdrop is the same for all handheld weapons except the LMG's.

fantastic guide as some ones already said i dont think its that usefull once youve got the second sniper badge cos after that its just choice of location that can affect how well you play.
i posted a useful sniping position on the page about tips for wake island hope fully you snipers out there will find it useful.

wake island wasted like 4 shots tryin to get the bullet drop right on this guy in a boat driving away towards the carrier and he disappeared from view into the fog and i thought "god dam it!" and aimed wat i thought was ridiculously high and fired and it came up with the guys name saying i killed him and my reaction was very much along the lines of WTF.

it feels so good though wen you get that one sweet shot. :)

Yeah, the random shot that hits is great. One of the best moments in BF2 is when you get a hit like that.

Nice job on the manual. I especially like the distance view chart!!! I love sniping and found the chart very useful in picking long distance sniper hiding spots with the longest viewable range.

Does anyone have the distance information on the SF maps. I mainly play on those now, but might go back to vanilla BF2 to have some more fun with the long range shots.
