Best conditions for knife kills:
1. When the enemy is not looking and you're close enough.
2. When an enemy is busy doing something else and you're close enough.
3. When an enemy runs out of ammo.
4. When an enemy is proned and you're in close quarters.

Flanking tactics when in a large group- or when part of a group of passengers in a transport vehicle helps; simply- when the group/vehicle encounters some enemies, usually the enemies take cover if your numbers are superior to theirs; let your group/vehicle go forth- and you should splinter off to flank the enemy as your group/vehicle continues to move forward.
Your group/vehicle should now have the full attention of those enemies, and can act as a diversion as you go around and knife them all.

Wake island - Get a good chopper pilot in the Z-10 and have him drop you on the US arty island, make a squad so you can keep spawning on him. You should be able to get all your pistol and knife kills in one round (if the US don't have any bases).

some servers might count that as stats padding

So far the best map for me is Jalalabad. Start as MEC, then make a squad and capture the only flag that is neutral. Then go to their uncap base by taking the long route which is the route that is close to the out-of-bounds area (u'll get what i mean). For the past few wks i've realized that an average US team would not attack and just hide behind rocks near the burning APC. And the best thing is that they will make squads and stay near the rocks so that they wont travel the long way again.

Usually the basic for knife is the most hard to get, but once u get it, the veteran and expert are easy. As for the pistol, when u see a person shooting at u and is in CQ and instantly go to prone, whip out your pistol and shoot him while running in circle. Usually works for me. Most of them will tend to miss u when u're circling them. I just recently got my veteran for both. But the thing i really hate is that since 1.3 or 1.4 (i forgot) they make the veteran and expert badges for knife easy to get. Makes it less challenging.

I am probably the worst knife killer ever, I sucked in CS and I suck in Battlefield as well. I believe I have 2 knife kills and a lot I mean a lot of deaths trying to get the basic knife badge, usually stop trying when I get close to getting a purple heart medallion. Just started trying to take the knife badge as I hoped for some magic that they would make the knife badge disappear.

The servers that I play on I can guarantee that I will never be able to get the knife badge, probably end up with 1000 purple hearts instead.:cry:

A couple of nights ago I went for my basic aviator badge and went to a new server that only has kubra dam, on this server I am pretty sure I played for an hour on one round only, so I started to think that if I could find a similar server that has rounds that long for city maps I might manage to get the knife badge, because the times per round I usually play are 10-25 min and I will never ever manage the knife badge in that time limit.

So here, finally is my question:
Does anyone know of any servers that have on average 35 min and longer gametime per round, if so please tell me ip address or names.

because all the hints, how good they are will not help me much on the servers I usually play on or other with "short time periods" per round.

I mean I have scooped out enemies, been totally invisible and ready to stab for someone else on my team sniping or killing him, spending 2-3 minutes doing that makes a grown man cry.

Knifeing came to me naturaly...Anyway Just go find a knife and pistol only server the are long rounds chances are you can kill a few people in there.

I wont do that, EA might cancel my account if one plays on those kind of servers, atleast that is what I have read.

They don't cancel your account, just wipe your stats, although its getting more and more rare of this happening, it is usually only happening to HIGH ranking people.

Besides it's easier just to go into a I/O karkand server and stick to the hills as mec, stab all the snipers. You should have your knife badge within 15 minutes.

Listen to the guys telling you to jump on a knife and pistol server will only get your stats reset so that you have to start all over again.

Don't try to bend the spoon. That would be impossible. Realize the truth that there is no spoon.

Dudes, If you know you can't get the knife badge or think that it is hard, you will only make sure your prophecy comes true. Knifing takes a wee bit o' confidence.

I went off the wagon this week. I've been trying for only pistol kills instead of knife. After 50 sticks, I'd say that knifing is still easy (and very very satisfying).

Trust yourself. Focus on the knife. Read the guide for many hints.

Yeah believe me, it's not that hard actually. I got mine as an engineer (no reason really, just a non-armor guy) running around the LEFT side of Karkand hotel spawn (as viewed from USMC mainbase).
The left side is much much better than the right side because you can just stab them directly when spawned (yes, i know that is spawnraping ). Right now I have Expert knife due to the fact that I have knifed over 100 ppl .
