I tried to use some unique color, but fell back to the bright yellow HUD.

O sure, that's gonna do a great deal on hmmmmmm lemme think; Daqing, Dalian, wake, kubra. Seriously though, why use a crosshair with no sense of contrast to the terrain of the maps? Purple/pink are probably the most effective shades in a universal sense.
