Is it me or has performance increased since 1.41

I just nudged the resolution up a notch, from 1024 to 1124 or whatever the next one up is and... it's still smooth! couldn't do that before 1.41. Anyone else notice that

Just you. My performance gets worse and worse with every patch.

I went from 1280x1024 Max 4xAA/8xAF to 1024x768 2xAA/4xAF Medium~High when the SF patch came out. When 1.3 came out I went to 1024x768 Medium~Lighting Off with 2xAA/4xAF. Even then the FPS dropped to ~20's.

I think mine has too. I have a medium spec machine and iput some of the graphics settings up and it runs really smoothly I dont know exact FPS cuz i havent ran fraps in a while. Geometries on high makes the game look better.

I don't notice - I have everything on high all the time and it has never struggled, and shouldn't do with my spec.

After 1.41 my FPS went sour. I have 2 gigs of RAM, GF 7800 GT 256MB, AMD ATHLON 64 3000+ CPU and ASUS A8N-E mobo which should run game pretty smoothly. My settings are all medium and AA and AF off, dynamic lighting low. Still I get 30-40FPS if there is no action, when there is a good rush it may drop under 20. Honestly I don't know what to do. Yesterday I uninstalled the whole game, gonna reinstal it tonight but if it doesn't help I'm out of ideas.

ACE dude i have way lower specs than that and i run some specs at high and some at medium. But i do run it at 800 res though hmmm...

It's called the placebo effect. People think installing patches will always increase in-game performance. This patch only addresses one issue regarding server connection, so it has nothing to do with the rendering engine or anything like that. Try defraging your HDD, clearing out old caches, and other various BF2 junk (i.e. logo cache, server history, etc) if you want better performance.

Ok, forgot to mention, my resolution is 1280x1024. Native resolution of my LCD screen (BENQ FP91+). But still imho I should get better rates. Under 20 is not playable any more.

I already did, actually as I mentioned the whole game is now uninstalled and later reinstalled. I'm in my opinion at least average gamer and last 4 days I could not handle even an antitanker with the poor spray gun, no matter what gun I have.

Okay good old uninstall and reinstall did it again. Now my PFS is running around 70.

your imagining things. there is no fps difference between any version of bf2 for me.

and to ACE_FIN1972, i have a 7800gt, yet i can stay at 100fps solid no matter whats happening on screen. possible reason why? well i have 1.4ghz more than you... so overclock or buy a faster cpu.

bf2 loves a fast cpu!!

Performance has decreased after 1.2, but I couldn't notice differences between the later patches, if any.
