I see in your sig that you seem to be in favor of boycotting 2142: I find your attitude towards this patch rather contradictory in light of this fact. Would you care to explain how supporting one makes any sense when it's guilty of the same horrible practices?

I never liked BF2142 for it being an unfinished product, a mod of BF2 that we have to pay for, and that have as many bugs as BF2. On top of that, the game plain sucks and also is killing BF2. Boycotting BF2142 means no money for them (which is what the want).

But I don't like EA either way, for their horrible support and total disregard for their customers (proven over and over by faulty patches with retarded additions and no useful bugfixes).

BUT boycotting 1.41 is absolutely useless; or even good for EA so they have less people to support, and also splits the players which I find rather annoying.

Chief, that's the idea: if they no longer have anyone to support as a result of people either not playing the game or refusing to patch up, they'll have to address the problem, or they WILL lose more players until everyone is gone. If you want change, you must stop supporting them...
