How many of you use the throttle in the game? Meaning, do you fly at 100% at all times, or do you actually throttle down at certain occasions?
Do you use the throttle for the jet?

I dont mean flying with your middle finger on the W key, or flying with throttle set at 100% on your JS. I mean regular, systematic throttle control. :PComment

Re: Do you use the throttle for the jet?
Yeah I do. Its usually 100% all the time, but sometimes I put my jet into a coast for a cobra maneuver. Or 0%, or 35% for a hover in a chopper. Things like that. I set it to very specific places, and I have markers on my throttle for those places.Comment

Blades, can you really execute the Cobra maneuver in BF2? I know only one jet that has all the engine/mass aspects right to execute Cobra that either looks like one, or is useful as one.Comment

Its not really the exact maneuver, thats just how I described it so I wouldnt have to type out exactly what it is.Originally posted by Chris_RedfieldBlades, can you really execute the Cobra maneuver in BF2? I see. I do use it, but only to slow down as fast as possible.Comment

Re: Do you use the throttle for the jet?
I generally stay at 100% throttle at most times, I am normally on US side, and I seem to last much longer if I never slow down in the -35.. But that is just my limited jet expierience, so take it with a grain of salt.Comment

Re: Do you use the throttle for the jet?
I tend to use the throttle (F35 junkie) for:
1. Hover of course
2. Have flown too high (duh again) :)
3. More time to shoot at choppers if it's safe enough
4. Need a tighter, quick turn ...not typically in a manuever though
5. Chasing jets (J10s even) where I need to slow down otherwise I'll pass by, this happens more than I'd expect :hmm: alot of guys must not fly at 100% throttle
Probably 80% (?) of the time I'm keeping full throttle.Comment

To pilots using joystick throttle.
Ive pushed my ZERO mark way back, so I have a lot more room to adjust throttle between ZERO and 100%.Comment

Re: Do you use the throttle for the jet?
Well for the most part, I am full throttle cause i'm all about the speed. Only time I slow down is to land/hover/repair.
OR, in dogfights, then I am constantly changing throttle along with switching views like crazy.. really busy.
But for the most part, just flying around, I am 100% throttle.
And BTW I use W/S instead of my joysticks throttle. It gives me alot better control. Because there will never be a time where i'm "in between" 100% and 0% throttle... and in a chopper it's a must have IMO.. there are so many moves I do that you need to "fan the throttle" that the actual throttle on the joystick would be inefficient..
Nismo has my exact setup. I like the way I have it setup.. it's a good layout for my style of flying.. and thats probably why nismo flies exactly like me.. lmao.Comment

It is the SU 30 right? How does the cobra maneuver look like any videos?Originally posted by Chris_RedfieldBlades, can you really execute the Cobra maneuver in BF2? Re: Do you use the throttle for the jet?
Uhh, is there a move opposite to the cobra? like down instead of up? Cause I can do that pretty much every try. Really good/hard move.Comment
