Jesus christ. look. Heres a direct link to the card. As you can see, it appears to be the best card available on the market. Case closed.

the benches out show that the 8800 gtx kills all other cards, as it should being a dx10 card.

Very flawed argument. No doubt there will be some entry level DX10 cards which will be woeful. Plus you need DX10 games and the Vista operating system to utlitise DX10, and last time I checked, neither are commercially available.

I have a question for everyone who has posted here.
Are you saying that the 8800GTX is just UBER good cuz its really expensive?
Or do you actually know for a fact its very good and fast because you know the specs and you know what each of the spec does?

The GTX is a quantum leap in technology compared to previous GPU releases. Just read the reviews (there are many) along with pics. Additionally; check the forums where people have them, you will be impressed with the fps people are getting in games, with max image quality settings to boot.

EDIT: DX10 and their games are a long ways off so worrying about DX10 performance right now isn't valid.

aww aint that cute, fighting over a card, ofc 8800GTX is the best card on the market as ATi/AMD hasnt released their version yet (DUH!)

but for the time being 8800GTX is you best bet even though it does cost a small fortune

of course the 8800 is better but for how long. its a new card and is built for directx 10. wait until ati comes out with thier directx 10 cards before u make judgements. also i hear the ati cards are gonna be 512 bit interfaces wit 1gb of ram.

8800 GTX owns 1950 xtx. A single 8800 GTX is about the same as 1950xtx in crossfire setup. 8800GTX FTW.

honestly it doesnt matter, unless you run the game at ridiculously high resolutions.

For half as much you can get a 7950 gt or x1900xt that will run the game with 8x aa 16x af.... this is only the first dx10 card, in a few months there will be numerous other options, like the previous poster said, by the time dx10 becomes a factor there will be newer, cheaper and faster cards out.

If you have a 24" or 30" monitor, by all means pick up an 8800 series card and enjoy, but if you havea 19" lcd that runs at 1280x1024, it is massive overkill

He asked which is better between the two cards, and its the 8800GTX. There's always a better card around the corner, but for now, the 8800GTX is the best. Its not a debating point really.

Wisdom says wait. The R600 isn't out yet and if you're in the market for a DX10 card you would have to be crazy to spend $650 on a 8800 right now. Why? Because there are no DX10 games out and with the current crop of games the 8800 is overkill. Not only that, but DX10 requires Vista (at least for now).

The rumors about the R600 are very impressive and the 8800 may have some real competition come Jan 2007. If 90% of what is being reported is true the R600 will be another step above the 8800. In any event the 8800 is priced really high due to supply/demand right now and with no DX10 games out, whats the point in spending that much?

Well having just installed my 8800GTX I can only say ..this card will kick the shiat out of any existing card ..BAR NONE!!!!

Im playing BF2 and BF2142 at 2048 res...16 X AA and 16 X AF (Nvidia CP forced---its a new application that overrides the in game settings) and all in game settings on HIGH....the fps meter rarely leaves 100...Ive seen it dip down to 90 sometimes during arty but its still as smooth as silk.....

BTW guys i think your gettin the cart before the horse here.
With vista coming out, and technology revolutionizing i think there may not be a dx10.
I think that they can come up with a little bit better sub system than dx.
