OK, this should catch your attention. I see servers described as knife/pistol/paddle only servers so went to go see what that was all about as I don't have much experience with those weapons. Wow, I was shocked to see several players racking up 400+ scores.:thatsbad: I don't understand how that can even be possible?

Let's not hope so. It's pretty obvious that he didn't like what he saw there and probably won't join such a server again.

I've seen guys post similar and actually stating they didn't like what was going on and still got the same treatment the guys that liked them did.

My point in asking is, is there some technique to using a knife that makes this even feasible without resorting to some form of hack or cheat? I mean, 400+ and counting in just one round!!! (Granted that was on a close combat server.) Aside from that, maybe there is something of value to be learned despite the appearance of being highly suspicious. If a knife could be used effectively in a crowd of enemies then that's something worth knowing. :guns:

Me + knife + idiot medic who doesnt bother to kill someone before rezzing = plenty of knife kills as he keeps rezzing people so I can knife em again.
Also, a good tactic for a knife kill is jump over the guy and get him in the back, alot of people will just dolphin dive and shoot. 7/10 I get em.

The knife is even worse in 2142 IMHO, I think it takes longer to swing again and I very rarely get a first stab kill. Plus the knife makes a louder noise so often it looks like this: I run up to an unsuspecting enemy (let's say prone), I stab, make a *ching* noise, the enemy stands up, jumps put of the way before I make a second stab and kills me. Sometimes it takes out it's own knife and we have a knife fight, but then I get no advantage of sneaking up to the enemy in the first place and quite often lose the fight, having a higher ping.

Whenever I go for a knife kill, I always expect two hits for a kill. Go for the proners. If they're in prone, jump to the side and behind them for the kill. Most likely they're in scope and they wouldn't be fast enough to react.

before the last patch i always killed with one stab, after the patch 2/3 of the time i see that puff o dust and have to stabb stabb again till the game decides my enemy should die

yea and the expert is even harder :)

took me along time to get that badge.

lies expert is easy since there is no IAR requirements after the first one. Just sit on the banks in kark, youll get all 3 within a weekend if you want the badge that bad.
