m4a1, packs the same number of bullets per clip vs the mp5 but the mp5 is like a squirtgun while the m4 at least packs somewhat of a punch, plus you get the laser scope so once cqb is over u can snipe.

The MP5 is sooo cool to get a kill with. The sound of it, and the rate of fire, feels really good.

The M4 is better in stats though. I go Anti-Tank over Spec ops though. Come in, own a guy with the SRAW, then whip out the Mp5 for a couple more guys.

        CHeck out this link http://wiki.bf2s.com/weapons/comparison
Its a weapon comparison chart and pretty helpful for these kind of questions.

The MP5 his a higher rate of fire (900)rpm compared to the M4 (600)rpm. The M4 has higher damage though (25) compared to the MP5 (19)

Personally they both work good for me in CQB but I prefer the AT class and the MP5. For longer range shots I just use the rockets (almost better than a sniper rifle really).

M4 is my rifle of choice always. Love it.

M4, more accurate and better for sniping. MP5 goes all over the place.

+1 for the M4; probably my fav gun in the game.

M4 turns out better for me IMO; but the MP5 is just great if you know how to use it. You have to fire in quick bursts; you'll be emptying a lot of ammo per burst because of of the ROF. Thanks to that though, you'll retain accuracy and also get lots of 9mm bullets into the way of the enemy.

^ no way! the g36c just owns everything from short to long range

and the m4 is def better than the mp5...i feel like it has a lot of recoil/ is hard to control cuz its so weak and u dont kno if u hit the person or not since it takes like 3921078392107 hits to kill someone with it

Re: M4A1 vs MP5 in CQB

It would depend on the setting. If there were obstacles and junk or a headshot was necessary, under 15m the MP5 would probably be better since it has more managed recoil. It's easier to bring on to target in full auto once you've already started firing. But for alleys and stuff, where it's tight fighting and you might have to take on more than one enemy, I'd go with the M4. It has more damage, tighter groups, and if you're facing multiple enemies and have to settle for torso hits, it's more probably you'll come out alive if you're using the M4. The M4 is probably the best all-around gun, I even prefer it to the G36C and SCAR-L... I don't care what the tables say, the G36C is weaker than the M4, I always seem to be able to take down enemies in fewer shots with the M4, at least at medium ranges. Plus, the M4 is MUCH better for long-range shots, pretty much on par with the SCAR-L.

I believe you're way off with your assesment Virus, I've been playing this game for some time now and have acceptional experience with the M4 and g36c. While the g36 may be a little more accurate at longer ranges, the dot on the m4 by far balances out that drawback. I only use the g36 when not on the USMC, other than that I'll take the M4 over the other rifles any day.

If you compromise for the bullet drop, and are in semi at a distance, you will take a target down easy with the m4. The M4 is also better than the other SF rifles at firing off single shots in fully-auto mode.

                          - The M4 and the G36C are both Carbines.

                          - The G36C at least remains semi-accurate while you're strafing. The M4 instead fires erratically like a Submachine gun while you're moving.

                          - The G36C is superior in single shot mode.

well yeah for me MP5 is almost useless against distant targets but in cqb it is much easier to control and higher rate of fire than M4,altough its much weaker too.

i would use the M4A1 if it was down to stock weapons but i would prefer the P90 and is the gun i use most of the time :)
