I find it funny how, when I am USMC, I often pick up the AK if I can. Then after a 30 minutes play MEC, I want to have the M16. They both are real excellent weapons. Just depends on how your playing. With the M16, you just need to remember to be quick pullng the trigger. If not, some spec-ops armed with a AK-74U will make you piss your pants.

I find it funny when I have to play with the assault M16, then a team mate goes down, I pick up his med kit to revive him, and now I am armed with the G36E. Though the G36E is a very nice weapon, it throughs you for a second because it is just slightly slower burst. I used to love my G36E, now I frantically dig through bodies looking to get back an AK or M16.

The M16 is a great weapon(my favorite). I wish it would be on full auto tho, it would own the ak anyday. I use the m16 almost anytime i am playin assult, its a good weapon for close up and medium range. The long distance is too risky against all those other godly guns such as those g36 families

Learn to use it and the M16 is very usefull, just as good as the G36 rifle. The more I play the unlocks, the more I find they're not really superior to the standard weapons. (except for the F2000) The thing is, the unlocks typically only have an advantage at a certain range. The G36E comes out superior to the M16 at the outer edge of the medium range. It just has tighter groups in 3-shot burst, and stays on target better in rapid firing. Close in, there's not much difference between the two. Past 30m, the G36 starts to have an edge because you can keep fire on target better. But in zoomed mode... look out. If you REALLY need to reach out and touch someone, I'm talking those "WTF?? NO WAY!" shots, the M16 is probably the most capable non-scoped weapon in the game.

I know it's out of context and not quite the same weapon but try telling a vietnam vet the m16 isn't a bad weapon...:laugh: but yeah in bf2 I love the m16 it owns and sounds awesome

The M16 from back then, is almost a different animal. :)

Nothing wrong with the M16 except that I hate 3-round burst in CQB and I do a lot of CQB. And if you play medic and like 3-round burst then the G36E is a bit better than the M16.

I hate the 3 round bust also, if it wasn't for that I would probably use it over the L85. I prefer the AK101 to them both though.
