Well my opinion -- I'm Active Duty USAF, been in 8+ years. Done time in 3 months in Saudi, 1 month in Qatar, 3 months in Oman, and 4 months in Iraq. Rode my motorcycle with the group in the Veterans Day parade, hung out with the Patriot Guard Riders a little bit...and then......and played a little BF2 later that night. :)

            groan.

War is just that, war. nasty, dirty, rotten stinking foul and many other adjectives.

BF2 is a game. a game. something to pass time in a manner found enjoyable by the participants.

There is no problem playing on 11/11 as far as im concerned, nor on any other day.

The problem arises when you get people who think that the game is real, or who get a perverse extreme level of enjoyment out of the game and decide that the best next idea is to go and join up with your country's forces purely to kill.

It occured to me, that it might not be appropriate afterall, while I was attending a service. The speaker had said that all the veterans he's ever talked to, none of them believed in war, he continued to say that war is not what it seems, its not the way movies, or video games potray it.

              What are your thoughts?
I don't care what day it is or if it makes baby jesus cry. I'd still play reguardless, besides what does BF2 have to do with a bunch of people that got splattered overseas that I didn't know nor care about?

There's an insurgent holiday? I wasn't aware. I always thought there should be since no ones ever takes notice to the muslim casualties.

Mainly US but any military in general. I don't care for nazis or mass murderers.

**SCARY** is the first adjective that comes to mind.

It seems that is a common one, that sticks with war vets young or old.
Its up to the individual, how they pay their respects!
