      Re: The Truth About CAL

      Well I installed BF2Pro and played 1-2 rounds :p

It's not bad, most of the players are way above the average pubber you'll find. But I got to shock paddle reef from checksix:

        Re: The Truth About CAL

*sigh* I use to visit these boards but I hang around cal now a days and all I can say is there is an equal ammount of retards on each as well as trash talkers. The reason many people see trash talkers in pubs saying well I'm awsome in cal is because they are trash talkers. You will not see most of the members showing off how well he/she does in cal because only the few assholes do this. Of which you will get an equal ammount of trash talkers in pubs.

To play in cal you dont have to be good, you dont need to practice, you dont need to spend massive amounts of time in it. All you need to do is join or make an open teams and play 8v8 or 5v5. If you want to win then you need to do those things. But why does it matter if your playing for fun which most teams do.

Playing in cal might have its share of hackers, but pubbing has that as well. At least with cal something more than just PB is used so why would there be more hackers in cal? Also people in cal do tend to be better then most pubbers for the fact that top teams play a good amount and against other good teams. Each team is usually made up of good infantry. There are pubbers better then many cal players and vice versa but with cal you play people of your level most of the time and improve from that.

But seriously who cares about all this, this post was just trying to tell people, hey if you wanna try out a new style of playing you might enjoy it. Just because some people are trash talking idiots or you heard of a few cheaters why would you not try a different way of playing. At least then you can say you did or didnt like it (not talking to those people that have played just the bulk of people that say random stuff bout how they hear how bad cal is so it has to be).

I'm not afraid to play with, or against anybody, irregardless of skill level, or clan name. I've played with the worst of the worst, and I have played with the best of the best. Not much impresses me anymore; although I will regard somebody as 'my hero' if they wow me as much as somebody like BushViper has in game.

Unfortunately despite the fact that I still wear my BFO tag proudly, I no longer have a clan that is willing to back me up on that statement, therefore I'll make this statement instead of a scrim challenge:

If anybody ever needs an extra body to take up space in a scrim. Just drop a line to Dairuka on Xfire. I may not be as good as the best of the CAL players; but I can guarantee that I will be able to hold my own and learn at a pace quicker than the average CAL player.

Back in my PlaneWhoring days when I released the first PlaneWhore video (a basic piloting tutorial for newbies) it spawned a thread on the CAL forums mocking my ability. As a result many of the top CAL pilots attempted to hunt me down on the servers I frequented and shoot me down. Luckily for me I was warned ahead of time by a player on the PBF servers about this PlaneWhoring killing contest so I could properly defend myself and record the results. Long story short none of the CAL pilots succeeded in shooting me down. I managed to shoot them all down though and posted up screenshots which seemed to upset them quite a bit and ultimately resulted in a locked thread.

On a related note almost all of this CAL player ([FRAG]Eldar being the worst) were complete asshats on the servers I was flying on. I watched a few of them teamkill for aircraft among other things and one of them even switched to my team and attempted to teamkill me with the other plane. Needless to say not very sportsman like conduct.

CAL players are better than the average pub nub... I'll give them that. But all the points I give them for skill they lose because of their poor attitudes and behavior.
Ah another fond memory, but you got the story wrong old buddy! I remember when that thread was posted in CAL and everyone laughed at the self-proclaimed "Grandmaster aviator". I also remember posting on the forums telling you how terrible you were (good times). There were a lot of arguments between us and I issued several challenges, but you would never accept.

Then one day I happened to join the same server that you were on. No, I didn't follow you, sorry to disappoint. It wasn't that I didn't want to prove you wrong and completely humiliate you, I really just didn't think that highly of you to waste my time doing so. So anyways like I said I hopped on the same server as you and jumped in the SU-30 while you were in the F-18. I dogfought you for a bit and took you down bomber vs fighter (kind of pathetic) 1v1 until you were on fire and bailed like a little girl (gotta protect that kdr  ) We both talked **** after I shot you down, with you giving every excuse you could think of as to why you got shot down, and then the round ended. When the next round started on the same map, you switched to china for whatever reason (tired of the mean enemy bomber maybe) and and some pub scrub took the plane, so having nothing better to do I team killed him. I'm not going to defend myself team killing or try and justify it, some may see it as wrong and immature, but I'm not going to let someone I know I can destroy take the plane I wish to fly. You can call me an *** hole, you're probably right, but it's not gonna happen.

Anyways back to the story, we spent the rest of the round at the airfield arguing about how terrible you were. When the round ended the server switched to Dragon valley 64, I ended up being USMC while you were China. I was so excited that I'd get to play against you with the worst plane in the game to show you just how "good" you were but before I even loaded in, or anyone for that matter, you were already camping the carrier with the J10. You must have a powerful computer, I will compliment you on that, but that's about all I can compliment you on. I finally realised how you had gotten so many points, loading in before everyone and going straight to the airfield! And here I was being a fool actually trying to dogfight people, boy was my face red. Well after a while of you camping the carrier and me never being able to take off, I left the server. I was bored and felt I accomplished all I needed to do, shooting you down with a bomber vs a fighter, so I probably went and bought a slurpee or look at porn or something, or cyber with clark jones. <3

So that's the end of the story. Did I try and track you down somehow and find you someday? No I simply happened to load up on the same server as you did. Did I team kill? You bet your *** I did. Did you ever shoot me down? No but you're amazing at attacking the carrier! Did I ever switch teams to try and team kill you? Ha, not a chance, I wouldn't waste my time and if I ever did I wouldn't have tried to team kill you, I damn sure would have succeeded.

Don't worry I'm sure the admins will lock this thread and the people frequenting this forum will still look at you as their all powerful master jet pilot! Oh how I wish I could be so lucky.
