It was never my bag. I always loved the Medic kit (and not because you got mega-points). I thought the assault kit was too generic, but now that I have gotten burn out on being a 'team player' I go assault to 'export pain'...Terry Tate style.

^^ you just see too many medics, snipers and supports. they can rack up the points, but IMO it isnt as much fun as taking out an entire squad with a single well-placed shot from your GP-30.

Jalalalalalabad tonight--> playing as assault with F2000, kept on sneaking behind the MEC "sniper line" going towards the city. Find one or two grouped together, and g/l them...then switch to rifle and start collecting the heads of all the snipers that are prone and not paying annnnnnnyyyyy attention.
And, do you know how long it takes a Medic to switch from paddles to rifle? Forever, if you nail the defenseless slacker first.
A good time was indeed had by all...but BF2 doesn't "feel" like BF2, what with running around these maps on foot, especially after getting spoiled with the ATV in SF, or the Li'l Bird in AF. On the other hand, not being able to get from one side of the map to the other in 22s makes folks squad up and play as a team a little better.

Assualt kit is really nice.
It gives you a double attack, and allows for mutiple kills. Lately Ive been in love with the M16/203 combo, doesnt have the punch of the AK but it seems much more accurate.

Had a very good time last night on I/O (Custom PC server). Sniping and Assault kits for a straight-up gun-fight with a few Clay/GL surprises thrown in, and thank god for no bloody arty ruining my day. Sitting on top of the buildings on the Hill in Mashtuur with a M16/M203, took out a whole MEC squad attacking the base with 2 mags fired in 3 round bursts. By the end of the night I was 40 kills up on my death rate (which is good for me), and frankly, had a lot more fun and a lot less frustration than spending all night waiting to respawn because I had been arty'd or carpet bombed.
Love the GL because you kind of fire it on "feel", especially when doing it on the move. More of an art than a science (he says, quickly getting back on topic).
Anyhow - one small complaint on I/O - surely at least a little transport would help?

Infantry only servers definately take a helluva lot more skill to play in, thats for sure. As AT class, I actually had my rocket armed most of the time when guarding a point- because taking anything head on with the AT side-arm is utterly futile; there were countless times where I had to do many point-blank missiles-to the face shots; they were beginning to call me a noob just because I was using rockets 80% of the time.

I find both types of servers fun to play in.
IO is easy mode though. I usually only play it when my buddies aren't on and I am in the mood to make people cry. The level of skill is pretty low in IO servers, so it's pretty much stat padding for people who are used to very high level of play against very good players.
Of course, I don't mind that one bit. My stats have never been better.

Yeah, it's a reason on my first time playing on an IO server, I avoided going close quarters- coz I just know there's gonna be dolphin-diving galore, and of course the mad bullet-dodge dance.
One thing I learnt from this? if you're on the attack- never zoom in with your sights, if you encounter any enemy too close- they'll just run right past you and kill you coz you wouldn't be able to follow them with the muzzle of your gun.

I haven't really had much experience with the grenade launcher. I'm currently attempting to get all my veteran badges, so I assume my assualt badge will be next. I'm not very good with the grenade launcher, does anyone have any tips?
