Played in a proper squad based 10v10 clan competition game!

Tonight I just finished playing my first clan game and my heart is still racing! Seriously, BF2 was designed to be played this way. For the first time in my 300 hours of play, I haven't been team killed, nade spammed, had my vehicle stolen from team mates, haven't had medics run past me with no intention of reviving, haven't had support players look at me with this dumb expression as I yell NEED AMMO! in their face.

If you enjoy the team aspect of BF2, GO JOIN A CLAN! I've got nothing against pub servers as they are great to jump on and have a quick game. But for me I can't wait for our next match on Sunday!

Well, BF2 was first intended to be a squad based intense action first person shooter. But people turned into a Quake style free for all deathmatch, aiming for stats.

I just joined a clan (nothing great, between my school mates and friends, we put in money to run a server, and we all play) and it is so much fun. Though we are serious while play, we have our fun once in a while (as the server is unranked ).

Teamwork is the key, once I joined the clan, and played, **like you said* i havent been tked, shot out of a vehicle (m95), run over a tank while repairing... etc etc...

We actually plan out attack plans, and strategies, we have squads, each with their own goals and tactics (i know i am giving out our clan tactics, but we dont care) we have support squads, assualt squads, 'spotter squads' where there are snipers, which have the advantage of spotting at long distances, heavy assualt (tanks apc etc).

We also have our mobile artillery, the bomber! any squad can ask the commander for a quick clean of an area, the commander then tells the heavy assualt squads best bomber pilot to do the job...

so yeah, thats 1/100 th the tactics we have here..!

You speak the truth. I have a 10X better entertainment experience when I play with my clan than I do by myself. I'll even join squads (when playing by myself) that have more than one clan member, as they're usually playing with some resemblance of teamwork.:)

I think he is talking about a "clan match" not clanning in a Pub server

Yes clanning is fun but I've been doing it for al long time now and I can see some people are heading to BF2142 or are quitting BF2 Clanning because of the poor support from EA/Dice

Yeah, what i typed previously was to do with our clan matches, i was just explaining the teamwork that can be put into the game if everyone knows each other and plays...

I used to pub all the time but after so long it got really boring.

A few months ago I joined Team Vengeance and its been a blast with all the scrims, twl and cal matches. Tonight we are getting shoutcasted on egln for the first round of playoffs.

That happens in pretty much every online game now. It's a generation of deathmatchers playing now.

Indeed. Any lack of teamwork, strategy or implementation of such is non-existent and very frustrating at times. No one listens, even when you're the top scorer and can prove you have what it takes to win games. I've had people leave my SUCCESSFUL squad to do their own thing. It's nuts. So now I just give up being commander or squad leader and just do my own thing.

Shame that clan tourneys/leagues attract the darker and ultimatly lamer side of a BF2 gamer.

I remember how my heart used to race at the start of a TWL/CAL match. It's like you can feel this weird video game adrenaline running through your body.

The biggest rush came after the match, mostly after a win, when you're heart is still racing like crazy and you go pwn unsuspecting noobs in a pub. :)

I also used to get a weird feeling before starting matches. Almost like a nervous feeling as to how the match would play out.

ive heard all the clan matches now consist of dolphin diving retatrds floppin all over the place....

and that ppl must adopt this lame tactic to compete.....please tell me i heard wrong....

hehehe - me too. I was sh!tting myself when there was like 15 mins to go before the game!

There was definitely none of that sh!t going on during our game. Also, since the 1.4 patch, I personally have never seen ANYBODY dolphin diving.
