Wow, I'm not gonna read all that. I can relate to your tracer fire comment though. Before this, all I played was BHD. The tracer fire in that game added such a sweet effect to the battle. Also made it easy to hunt down snipers.

The old BH guns used to be overpowered. That was unbalanced.

The new BH guns are severely underpowered. That is unbalanced.

Why can't DICE find a middle ground and make ALL of the transport guns formidable but not too powerful? Because it really is sad seeing the transport sit empty for most of the round.

the reason, my friend, is simply:
if you change one aspects of the game, u will have to alter the whole bunch of stuff(such as the other transport guns which i belived its a .50 cal guns and how much damage the guns will deal to others armors, helis and infantry etc...)
unfortunenaly the BH gun is clearly a notch above the other transport guns(i belived its due to its high rate of fire).

which means that if they were to balance the mini guns to the same standard as the other transport guns, it would means it is following the APC standard(in case you haven't notice, MEC's APC have a higher rate of fire but lesser damage while its western counterpart has a higher damage but lower firing rate, but i think they will deal roughly the same damage withen the same time span). transformed to transport gun standard would mean that BH mini's have lesser damage while other transport guns have higher damage.

this equites to BH guns being nerf severly and ruin the main point; the BH gun is clearly a notch above the other transport guns...

also 'formidable' and 'not too powerful' don't mix together in a gun point of view. its like getting drug high and stress at the same time...

BF2 is more arcade then quake ffs.

Nerfing the blackhawk was the best thing happen to BF2 (Im inf most of the time).

You want realistic, unbeatable airpower? Then give infantry also realistic firepower- realistic AT (one-shot-kill), hidden from UAV when inside a building, accurate-as-f*ck rifles etc. then would be fair.

But that would never happen cause then a lot of kiddies wouldn`t buy this game anymore, cause it`s too damn difficult= EA loses a lot of money.

I like games where nothing has been nerfed or balanced for the sake of gameplay (AA, OFP, ROOST etc.). In those games, every single kills gives you the feeling like you`ve accomplished something special.

Dont you think they tested those opportunities? Yes they were there for a reason! Of course they did.
You talk about naval battles in 1942? this is BF2.
You say this 'could' have been the best FPS shooter ever? Well is it? You are still here posting! Why aint you posting on the 'best shooter ever website'?
Dont get me wrong, i do partially agree, it could be better! But its as good as they could get it! (and yes they are skilled) just remember they are trying to keep everyone happy. NOT just the hardcore forum users!
General, everyday gamers also play this game, this is where EA make money!
IMHO EA have done a very good job in keeping everyone 'kind of' happy.
I used to be a 'general' gamer, but now im a hardcore FPS gamer, so i see both sides.

If you can find better (which you obviousy cant(the reason your still here)) then let me know! Honestly im interested!

But EA still caters to them, and nerfs down all the guns, introduces a gay as hell random cone of fire, and nerfs basically everything at their demand.

And so what if this is BF2? Does that automatically mean that we cannot have naval battles. They were in BF1942. Its like a step backwards.

Heres a solution...if people don't like the arcade nature or BF2 or quake etc etc, go get armed assault when it comes out, or operation flashpoint/ ghost recon. There are "sims" out there, BF2 is not one of them.

i would be most happy if the BH guns were made to their former power but the helicopter itslef was easy to bring down

for example the BH in 1.4 takes 2 anti tank missiles to bring it down

this is just ridiculous a missile like that would blow the BH into the middle of next year

they would be as someone already mentioned formidable but not overpowered

People like you my friend annoy me because no where do I ever recall Dice or EA claiming Battlefield 2 to be realistic apart from textures and models. The simple fact is that BF2 was not made to be realistic, it was made to be balanced.

BTW talking like that the fan base of BF2 and therefore by association this community is not a wise or kind decision.

What do you expect the Joe Bloggs gamer is where the money is at, those type of gamers buy the game play it for ~2 months and then move on in the process not joining a community, not whining about the game, just giving EA the money and shutting up.

I may sound like some kind of conspirator but EA and other large money grabbing gaming developers and publishers must HATE hardcore gamers for the simple they highlight there problems the same problems that are ignored or tolerated by everyday gamers.

I have nothing against BF2 but the J-10 F-35b inbalance which should be fixes in the next patch before EA ditches BF2.
And I have heard good things about PRMM so you should download that.

PRMM still has all the lame BF2 bugs/glitches. Dolphin diving etc... They've essentially just removed things from the hud and added maps and....well, some new guns and vehicles.

Apparently it's actually going to feel realistic in there latest version. We'll see. We'll see..
