It's mediocre - not super bad, not super good. Mostplayers go for points - especially since the point system really doesn't care about whether yo uwin or lose - there is no real reward fora wine. Ironically you can get a medal for being killed enough in a round - the purple heart. Other issues are:
      - Drawdistance is not up to par. Vehicles disappear from sight even though you can see terrain much further. Often infantry is not even rendered below your titan. At the same time the enemy can see you from the ground - so it's clearly poor coding/poor engine.
      - Small arms are as inaccurate as ever and the random cone has been preserved. So all combat is up and very close since it's nearly futile to fire at 100m+.
      - Infantry is basically fodder in this game. Vehicles are all-important.
      - Maps are rather uninspired. They are clearly designed with vehicular combat in mind. No foliage, no buildings to enter, not a lot of details or ambience. Maps seem "barren" or "sterile".
      - Monstrous lag-issues when titans are moving, showing both poor performance testing and poor quality assurance all around.
      - It's the future, but vehicles perform worse than contemporary vehicles. E.g. tanks are slow, have no acceleration. Everything slides on the terrain so you can't sit still with a tank on a hill, for example.
      - Too many "smart" weapons where no skill is involved. Moving and seeking anti-vehicle mines is one example.
      - Ground based AA turrets too powerful against Titan defenseguns. One AA gunner can suppres an entire Titan underside.
      - The blackhawk-whoring of the first 3 months of BF2 has been revived with transports that are even easier to fly than choppers.
      - Gameplay is largely a flag-race instead of a fight, because of uninspired map-design and too many silos to take and hold.
      - The "crown jewel" of the game is the frantic figthing inside titans, which doesn't work at all if titan are moving (lag and clipping issues galore) and compared to similar fighting in 10 y/o games it's really not very good (Tribes 2).
      - The combat-area of the Titans is small" one outside hangar landing area50 feet across, one inside split-level cargo area of the same size, two 20 feet corridors and the reactor room the size of two large living rooms. Compared to any other game in history with indoor fighting, it's the smallest arena ever made. And they are of course completely identical for both sides, in spite of the fact that everything else is at least somewhat different.
      - Movements of soldiers is "boxy" - doesn't feel like a body but more of a small mech-warrior when you run around.
      ...some I added...
      - 2 armies wearing almost the exact same uniform is a pain, really hard to judge friend or foe in a fire fight sometimes.
      - pain in the arse changing weapons on the fly while in combat, very clunky
      - all in all game is very clunky and less fluid then Bf2
..nevertheless many are supremely enthusastic about the game and that can be enough to make it entertaining for you. Especially if you don't take it as a "serious" shooter-game.
I agree with just about everything you said. Only thing that I haven't experienced is the lag in the Titan (I assume it's some weird, great twist of fate and good quality computer components).

After I get to 57.7k points the game will most likely end for me unless they seriously nerf the APC and walker. They're just too unstoppable and all everyone does is whore them around everywhere. The engineer rocket does squat, but I've heard the unlock rocket launcher is almost a one shot, one kill, but it's too bad engineer will be the last kit I unlock.I can't really imagine playing once I get all the unlocks and awards. I hated BF2 because it took so much time to get the various awards, but I hate how the awards are super easy to get in 2142.

My biggest complaint is how the guns are all complete trash except the sniper rifles and there is no 3-burst mode on any gun that I'm aware of. If you give me any BF2 weapon and put me up against any person using a 2142 weapon (doesn't matter what kit), I will easily kill them; the 2142 guns are just crap.

it is kinda illegal in my country to even own a firearm so the only way for me to take up firearms is compulsary national service in my country

i wouldn't want to argue about shaky crosshair since i really suck in sniping...

they have bipods so they dont sway and even if you didnt have a bipod its not hard to rest it on something or to hold it still.

swaying isnt realistic in the slightest, its just a nerf to stop snipers from hitting things as easily as they should.
Should? I'm a fair pitter with a shotgun, but I have troubles hitting a tin can at 40m with a scoped rifle.

When I hold a rifle, it sways like a mofo. As far as I'm concerned, the aiming with weapons in BF2 is unrealistic, and 2142 is more realistic instead.

It sways like a mofo if youve got weak hands. Lift some weights and you wont have that problem, or at least you decrease that problem to a degree where it wont bother you.

                there.
                Thats too bad.

From what I can tell you, in as objective comparision as I can come up with...

I am a kickass shooter when it comes to shooting from either prone or supported position (even was in county official tournament, came in second), however I cant really hit jack when I stand, and thats mostly because my hands arent tough enough to support the rifle. My friend on the other hand outshoots me in unsupported shooting.

Sniper rifle sway in BF2142 is unrealistic. Its pretty obvious that its there just to make it harder to shoot, not to simulate the read deal.

Breathing, heartbeat, strenght and stability of your hand, all of it has an effect on the sway. BF2142 looks as if its swinging in your hands.

Also, go prone, set your rifle on a bipod or on something, and it will not move (almost) at all.

well, its too bad that i can't use firearms unless im in the army(which is the eventual thing in my country)...

EDIT: i have add more of my notes for better understanding for those who want to migrate to 2142...
