did u try all the clearing cache files optimizations? plus defraggin and stuff

    and sry for hijacking but
Power supply can be the cause...
would that really affect performance? i found that when i didnt get enuff power (i had a 300watt psu for my 6800gt) my computer would just shut down my vid card/display and sound instead of getting slowdowns

If you have another CD-ROM/DVD to test, I would test it, to make sure it's not got a reading problem, or a voltage problem.

People love giving bad advice out (Chuck money out on a new graphics card, when the current one should run it absolutely fine).

Theres something deffinately wrong, as i could run BF2 on a 6600GT with only a Gig of ram, on a Sempron 3000+ at nearly 60+ fps at 800x600 everything on medium.

Only thing i could recommend is having every single driver updated on the system. Graphics card, sound card, motherboard, install the very latest directx, things like that. I do remember my brothers PC didnt run it well until i updated the graphics drivers (they were nVidia v84.21 or something like that) and motherboard drivers, then it all ran perfect.

Re: Serious Help Needed, Lag on Single player W/good Computer

I have everything Fully upgraded to its max. My power supply is only a 330Watt, so i will be getting a 500Watt from work on friday. I think that since i do have a very fast comp Cpu And ram Wise it should run everything maxed once i fix the problem.

And With CS:S and BF2, Befor i re-formated my computer i was getting the exact same problems but i didnt have the 2 gigs of ram, and im 100% sure both sticks are fine. But not eventhough i did the re-format, it still lags like crazy, so it must be my power supply. I mean COD2 Runs smooth, everything maxed but 15 min into my playing, it Restarts my F'ing comp... So i might take it in and see if the heat sink puddy on my CPU fan is all on or if some has fallen off... i dont know i really wanna play all 3 of those games smooth, and own some more noobs.

Thanks again for ur help everybody, and if you have any other possible solutions or know of any problems it could be, that would be awesome if u post...

Also run a ram test. There are several free ram testing programs you can download. another easy thing to do to test ram is to test it one stick at a time and see if you experiance the same issues.

Hi, u should also check any process that running in the background. Close all unnecessary processes except explorer and taskmgr. Make sure ur firewall does not block bf2. Try it, hopefully it might work.

Would you mind posting a "free ram testing" program? i dunno which ones work the best.

And now, My computer dosent even turn on... so my best bet is my powersupply thats been holding me back. Im gonna replace the 330Watt with a 500Watt today and see if that changes anything.

                  Thanks-
