i just decided to use the basic MEC anti-tank kit because the dao and p90 blow(in my opinion, ofcourse) and i pretty much owned. i had a kd of about 21-2. now i can actually use that kit!!

I agree about the MEC anti defualt gun. the USMC one is a pea shooter that runs out of ammo in 5 seconds, the DAO is good in confined spaces but like you i think i'd choose the defualt one over the rest!

I haven't used the MG36 but probably 20 mins before I unlocked it. Now, it's my favorite gun as support.

Didi they nerfed the l85 accuracy from 1.12 to 1.30/1.40?? cause before my BF2 hiatus in november 2005 i remeber it being more accurate.

now its cant seem to hit **** in moving CQC and sniping with it is much difficult.

Ever since they upped the damage so that it kills in one headshot, the L85 has been a pretty good gun.

Just gotta score with the first 1-2 bullets because after that it's an inaccurate mess.

I don't think they so much as upped its damage as made it randomly possible to get a headshot while firing full auto. I can NOT say how many times I've pegged a few Bravos into a guy (2 or 3 so he has to have quite low health at this point) only to have him full auto me b/c he panicks and instant head-shots me while having full health. I don't know if they really did adjust damage effects to the gun but they sure as heck did something to it...

I personally would rather use the G36E since it's accuracy seems to be pretty much where I aim the ironsights...L85 is just too random for me to trust that I will be able to outmatch someone one-on-one (and I have used both weapons to a considerable amount).

Never been a huge fan of the L-85, but i do seem to get killed by it an awful lot....

It's quite a usefull gun once you get to know how it works :)

Actually- I find just about all the guns in BF2 seems to be very 'experience intensive'- you really do need to get to know how the gun works and the gun itself to really get with actually making a kill with it.

I do really well witha G36C and I can out-snipe a sniper with it, I'm almost totally useless with all the other guns.

At first the l85 sucked, then they upped the damage on it and it's great...I just really wish it didn't sound so wimpy.

I still prefer the g36e in most scenarious but the full auto is hard to contest in cqc.

On an off topic note.... alot of you guys seem to say that you dont like the gun cause it sounds wimpy... do you think if I edited the sound file that it would cause punkbuster to kick you? I would actually love to play around with the sound files a bit... maybe make the L-85 sound like an automatic howitzer or something... lol.

No, they did raise the damage - from 32 (or maybe 33) to 34 so that a 3x damage headshot kills.

WTF???!!! Are you seriuos? A 5 year old child could own with a g36e. Its so overpowered its not even funny. I recently stopped using it because it was just so easy to rack up the kills, it wasn't even fun, Especially at med to long distance, i could outsnipe snipers on single shot!

yep i stopped using it a while ago , i thought i was really good but it turned out it was just that damn gun :p . Now im getting better with the M16 and the AK-101 , it is more challenging to go for the m16 instead of the G36e . As for the l85a1 : i never really liked it , but after reading this thread i think im gonna give it a try again.

Ahhh the L85... my first unlock too... didnt help me... i LOVE the crosshair though..

now i use it once in a while... VERY accurate in single fire mode (though the deviation is annoying)

btw, the PKM has been mega nerfed... cant hit SH!T now..
