I'd assume you need 14 gigs of free hdd space. That being said now-a-days hdd's are quite large but still, that's a decent amount of space for a game ( for me bf2/mods are like 6-7 gig).Comment

14GB? Gawd damn, but I guess when you think about it, the entire world, in a game, with high quality graphics (compared to the others). Its not that surprising... well, yeah it is.Comment

Re: Flight Simulator X 15 GBS???!!!
No worries, I have about 100 Gig free left on my RAID and another 200 Gig on my backup drive availible.
By the time these get filled, one terabyte drives should be availible at less than 500 dollars each. Or I can spend 500 dollars right now and triple the availible free space on my machine to over one tera.
Flight X is shaping up to be a good game, the demo is a little shaky but I expect good things from this new game.Comment

When you think about it i guess a lot of that space is for landscapes etc. there is a lot you can do in game should be pretty good must admit demo was a little buggy but im sure it will be fixed before releaseComment

well considering the size of the game ... well the "heavier" version i consider it to be okComment

My FS2002 with in excess of 20GB with addons. Dread to think what it is going to be like with FSX.Originally posted by DeadCRAP_am i reading this right? its the DVD version for flight simulator it says needs 14 GIGABYTES OF FREE HARD DRIVE SPACE O_O!111Comment

Re: Flight Simulator X 15 GBS???!!!
I recall when we first moved from Floppy disks to CD roms and started maxing out the small hard drives in the megabyte range we were begging for Gigabyte drives back then.
Now we are looking at Terabyte drives or arrays of drives totalling one tera or better to combat the bloat in the game software.
I dont exactly look at how big the game files are because one hour of DV video unedited routinely reaches 16 gb or so in size before processing.Comment

I had a similar experience in the demo, specifically the water textures. I put it down to being designed for DX10 and Vista, currently I'm running DX9 and XP Pro.Originally posted by TalusToo bad the graphics are still bland and the performance is abhorrant.Comment
