But, it was also rushed to release because of how impatient people are when it comes for "waiting for that new game." Its as much as the impatient gamers' fault as it is the developers' fault.

The whole idea of a futuristic version of BF2 doesn't really interest me and I'm sure there must be a whole butt load of people out there that think the same... so I don't think BF2142 will be as popular or take over from BF2... I hope.

I have to agree, 2142 doesn't realy interest me (although I must say the Titan idea has merit. They may have been able to introduce it as a Fortress mode in a realistic time mabey...)
I don't think BF2142 will gain the popularity they expect (at least I hope it won't). I think they may have done something good by going back in time (That very possibly wouldn't have done well either. I just would like a Battlefield Napoleonic Wars, or a Battlefield Age of Steel), but if they don't think that would work, they should have held out till they had something worth making a game about. I don't know, mabey people will like it, but I personally think it was a mistake.

No cause bf 1942 is 4 years old and theres still plenty servers left for die hard 1942 players like myself

i think there will at least be enough servers too keep us happy in 5 more years

LMAO BFV didnt crush 1942 at all it only took a small slice out of the community and the game wasnt really a flop much less than 2142 will be anyways

well i gave the deom another go and tried the titan mode

gotta tell ya it was pretty good

a little conquest then attack and defend all in one game

gotta love room to room fighting althought its kinda hard without any grenades love the one wat forcefields definitly makes attackers think quick

will it kill it? no but it has its own merits not to be taken lightly

2142 is lame, the Demo was horrible, even worse than the BF2 Demo.

I have to agree that modern war looks far more interresting. It is alot more gritty and realistic, for obvious reasons. Lassering stuff doesn't seem so fun really.

HELL! comrad dies gets blown to peices etc. and compared to a bug in a game the bug nothing. the troops are trained disapline to get over these small things in live.u guys realy need to show respect for these guys and stop treating them like u own them. i think its time to grow up

The original poster asked what our opinion was about the relative success of BF2142. People who have played both in Beta and on the Demo servers are offering their opinion.

No one here said anything about being able to program a game better than EA or that this was more important than what is happening in Iraq or Afghanistan.

We are the customers of this company. We purchased their product and it had flaws in it. They have corrected some of them but they still have a ways to go. Since we purchased a product that they produced we have a right to express our concern about it's viability. That's the way it works.

You tell us to grow up? Personally I grew up a long time ago. One of the ways I can tell is that I don't go on long, senseless diatribes about something completely off-topic. I got over that when I was about 15. So I suggest you follow your own advice Sir.

BFV=BF1.5
BF2=BF2
BF2142=bf2.5

I'll stick with BF2.. I'm looking forward to the exodus of all the "I must have the latest game" prepubescent idiots who think it's funny to run in front of friendly vehicles to force a TK or TK for jets/choppers... Should make BF2 a better game.

i havent playedf the demo yet, but i think it wont crush it becuase bf2 still kicks *** aslong as dice doesnt completely forget about it...i.e. release a few more patches, some new maps or something

i think all the real bf2 players will stay while all the tkers moved(thank gosh)already bf2 is becoming a mkre enjyable game for me.

BF 2142 will be a huge failure. They dumbed all of the important aspects of the game down from BF2.

#2. Infantry tactics have been simplified. In BF2, how and the order that you react when you confront an enemy determines who will win.

Yep, thats a real hard choice in BF2.
