hmm you sounded tired ehh, well it was good just like the other two, cant wait for daqing, one of my fav chopper maps
Lorazepam will do that to you. I had so many issues converting the video and manipulating codecs that by the time I got to the actual voice-over portion, I just didn't care anymore. I've yet to do the daqing portion too...
Nice video but other team helo pilots were very bad , they even didnt tried to avoid your TV missels :) In next video im hoping to see more competitive side.
Sloi, where can I download your first Dalian vid? I downloaded it from google but it's not of the same good quality as your kubra and dragon vids.
btw, to whoever said fragfests are I better, I have to strongly disagree, I think the part of setting up a shot is more important and fun than the kill itself, from Sloi's vids you learn and enjoy, from fragfests you enjoy only, but there is nothing educational in them. Plus an uncut video truly shows what a pilot a person is, while almost anyone can slap together a fragfest movie.
Another good video Sloi, I am impressed. Every time I watch your video it makes me want to do some attack helicopter flying, its pretty funny really. I had to send my stick back to Saitek in the UK to get it fixed it has been gone for just over a week about 10 seconds after your video finished the Parcelforce van rolled up with it all in perfect condition.

A few remarks:
(Try to read this as positive critisism)

Perhaps you should have slept on it a night Sloi...
You really do sound like you could care less in this video, which is really a shame, seen as you are now the only one making these 'tutorials' and people are excited...
I have to agree that this leaves the viewer a bit bored and left with a feeling of not having learned much...
Sure, you've mentioned some things in your previous video's, but then what was the point in making this one..?
-
Also, the rapid descent is not what I thought it would be...
Your methode does work well in crowded repairpads surrounded by trees and leaves you relatively less vulnerable to enemy tv's, but especially in the first seconds of the move, you are not really loosing much height...
I will try to make a short clip on the rapid descent I use myself, which involves loosing height instantly and continuesly, till I almost hit the ground... (I throw my chopper on it's side amongst others, it's quite a violent manouvre)...
-
I have to say though, that I really have the utmost respect for you fingers...
Soloing like that, with an almost standard controls.con, is something I could never do, (or want to do) no matter how much I would practise...
To think you actually press F12 in flight to look behind at one point baffles me...
Also, I just tried to fire tv's with your setup of using F2 to goto co-pilot, and F1 to go back, but I just can't do it... F2/F1 were one of the first keys I changed when I became interested in solo choppering...
I think it is really amaizing that you are able to do it so fast, though I do wonder why you left it at that... It must be tireing and straining on your hands and doesn't have to be that way...
Perhaps you could point out that any key can be changed by manually editing the setup file... It will help beginners, which is what you are aiming at...

Tips:
-
Not many people know that the freelook will also allow you to spot things... So if you are looking towards the side and see a tank or chopper, you can spot it...
Same counts for the tv missile screen. and the outside views, just as long as the enemy is in the center of the screen...
If you know your tv missile is going to run out of fuel or you just have a spit second to spare, you can do a quick spot while guiding, which can give a nice advantage on maps like dragon valley or sharqi, in case you miss and/or the enemy disappears into the fog...
-
Also, most noticably while in tv screen on Dragon valley, pressing q will center the crosshair making close up tv shots more predictable... (you know your crosshair is centered)
Anywayz, still looking forward to some MGing on sharqi :)
I lacked enthusiasm during the voice recording... all thanks to the ridiculous conversions and related problems I was having: I just wanted to get it over with and knowing that I could mess up my live recording at some point, I decided to play it safe.
As for the lack of competition? I still get to show off my techniques so it's not a lost opportunity. There will be more on Daqing: mg'ing, strict use of dumb missiles and rapid descents. Oh, by the way... I use C to change camera views! No way would I go to F12 for that!
Good video. Im not much of a chopper pilot I usually stick to jets if im going airborne but I learned a few things and tryed them out just a bit ago. The rapid descent trick is a bit hard to get the hang of but is really useful.

And you are quite fast with that C button... my god :)
But why would you leave seatchanging on F2/F1..?
Why not move them to the numbers 2 and 1 (above wasd), since you cannot change weapons in chopper (pilot) or land vehicle (gunnerseat)...
I know you are against doublebinding keys manually in controls.con, but I believe you could easely change it to 2 and 1 ingame...
I've got a question, is it possible to bind F2 and go to TGM to the same button on the keyboard or a mouse?
EDIT: DooDaH beat me to it,.... so how is it done? :)
Yes, it is possible to use 1 button to immidiatly go from pilot to TV, but I would not reccomend it for two reasons:
1) What if you want to goto MG..? You'd have to press that key twice...
2) On high ping servers, the switch to tv might fail and leave you sitting confused in MG...
(And on any connection, a ping may go up for a short time)
It is possible though to use 1 button which reliably switches between pilot and copilot, but that does not really belong in this thread...
The tip I gave Sloi (to bind the seats to 1 and 2 instead of F1/F2), should be possible in the in-game control options...
I thought most people just set the F2 chopper position to the right mouse click. Thats the way I have it and it goes straight from the pilot seat to the tv missile view.

I have experimented with that setup, but like I said above, this may lead to problems...
And it just doesn't fire as fast as the 3 click way...
Does it always work correctly in multiplayer for you..?

Force of habit. :)
I'm already darn precise with that switching technique (with the odd miss/slip once in a while) so I leave it this way even though I tried and liked the single right-click method.
I like knowing I can do it with the standard controls.
This video in my opinion is as a perfect example of how to fly in an empty competitionless pub, if only you had a good gunner/pilot combo on the other team, or half decent plane MG using pilot then you would be respawning a lot more. In which case this video does not help you at all, but nice flying sloi, did you come out of your mom in a helo? because you sure manuver it flawlessly. Not trying to be evil, just my 2 cents. Seriously , nice flying
